All, My wife and I are in the planning stages of a trip to Europe next summer. (June/July) What, if any opportunities are avaliable and in which countries are they in?
In Sweden the summer is very off-season too. Our real hunting seasons begins on the 16th of August roe-deer bucks), really takes off in September/October with almost everything, and lasts until January. You can hunt all year but then only for "varmint" species. It all depends on what, and how, you wan't to hunt.

Yep, Wachtel is right. But in some parts of eastern Sweden, you can hunt roe-bucks until June 15. You can also hunt wild boar during the summer. Oh, yes, you can hunt for crows from July 1! But there is no bowhunting allowed in Sweden, sorry. Here is some further information about hunting in Sweden. http://www.jagareforbundet.se/englishhuntinginsweden/default.asp

In Germany is it the season for Roe-buck or small wild boar. Roe buck especially end of July - beginning of August. May be you can book a hunt somewhere.
Best regards

Sauenjger1, Do you know of (or can post) links or outfitters? Marterius, This is going to be a vacation/second honeymoon so I won't be carrying the bow but if the opportunity is there I will use a rented rifle.
So if I read this correctly the only choices I have for mid - late June is the following: Roe Buck, Muntjac and Chinese Water Deer - in the UK Roe Buck, Boar in Germany
Are there any outfitters you can recommend? Thanks

Roebuck / wild boar / fox in France as well Greg. Forget the bow, administratively too complicated here even for a resident (in addition to the the many defaults you already know we have, froggies do love paperwork ). Europe is big. Which country do you exactly plan to visit?

Depends on what you plan to do, you will have radically different holidays in Spain and in Germany. May I suggest you make your way to the Most Beautiful Country In The World? Here you will have a variety of climates and landscapes, exquisite food and wines, beautiful women, err... forget it (you said you come with the wife?), and rich cultural/historical background. And a safe place, don't worry, not every french guy breeds tarantulas and murders warthogs with a spear

Hi Just to let you know that Red and Sika stags are in season in Scotland in July, but it is usually only the older stags that are out of velvet by early July

Given that Forest Enterprise for Roe bucks and Sika stags would probably be fun. Large national company and hence very reputable. It's not the rut so your stalker might not be so tired as he will be in July/August when the roe rut starts and all the Belgians and Germans come over.

I suppose you'll probably go to many places in Europe, but you might try to fit Alsace in France into the schedule. I believe its the best of France and Germany. Strasbourg is a great destination and Switzerland and Germany are next door. If you managed to arrange a hunt in the Vosges...
Roe Buck and Wild Boar is open season in Poland all summer. I shot 6+1 last May and had 4 wonderful hunting days 30 miles from german border and same distance from the baltic sea.
More informatin on hunting in Europe and elsewere on http://www.diana.dk also in english.
