HannayMuskox Hunting in Greenland
Not quite sure where to post this report - since Greenland is a territory of Denmark, perhaps I should have posted it here, but I posted it in "Hunting Reports - Rest of The World":

larryshoresExcellent. Congrats.
Why do people fly through Copenhagen? I have never understood that.

Larry, for winter hunts they are all based from Kangerlussuaq and only Air Greenland via Copenhagen do that route. You can go via Iceland but to another city and take an internal flight but adds another day to schedule and costs a lot more. Most people spend a day in Copenhagen before or after walking about.

Thanks. It is definitely the long way - see the great circle map for my actual routing - but as Sam says, the only other route (fly from the US to Reykjavik, Iceland to Nuuk to Kangerlussuaq) is worse for connections and the Reykjavik-Nuuk flight only goes once a week in the winter. Also, if I understood correctly, Nuuk is more likely to be fogged in as it is right on the coast, whereas Kangerlussuaq is well inland, sitting at the end of a long fjord. The cabin is only about 15 minutes by snowmobile from the airport.
