SGraves155When the top grinders are missing, or if the cutters pass behind the grinders instead of being sharpened by their grinding together, these elongated tusks develop. They are not sharp along the edges like normal cutters, and are of no offensive use when the tip is pointing to the rear. Still makes an interesting trophy.

Most people I know would take one of these type of tusks over a
high scorer set of tusks just because they are not that common.
Big, normal tusks are good, but they all look the same.
This type are unique and they all look different.
Just my HO.

Very few.
A lot of pig / boar hunting goes on over here in Aust.
Now, any tusks like these are bound to have a photo taken and put on forums, in magazines plus of course I talk to a few pig hunters and or go hunting.
So, if you count how many you see every year,it's not many, that's why I posted my comment.
I'd not shoot a big boar with big but normal tusks to shoot one with oddities like that any day of the week. Another big bore will always come along every year, a tusk like that won't.
If you put 50 sets of TROPHY tusks or lower jaws (and I mean Trophy, not just big) on a table and it included this one as well, I would be $1000 that 9 out of 10 people would pick this one up first out of the 50.
What do you reckon ?
