Husqvarna M98Unexpected guest at my bait!
I went out this morning, overslept, I was out at 6, I saw a bunch of pigeons, three moose, one calf, a bunch of roe, not on my grounds though,
However I did manage to empty my trail camera,
look at my new and unexpected guests.
Do notice the drawn tits, she has a litter, ie piglets some were not far off.
Ohh well I thought I would share.
Best regards Chris

SGraves155Very interesting, both the eagles and Eurasian sow.
What kind of eagles are they?
Do you hunt from that blind in the background?
31 August 2008, 17:38
Husqvarna M98I belive that they are sea eagles, due to the white tail, that is the bigger one here in Sweden,
Jupp I hunt from the stand in the back, about 70 meters to the bait, enough distance to allow me to move a bit in the stand without being noticed.
I have two more foxes to get this season, I have seen then in the other pics, planning my further hunts.
The boar is a no shoot as long as she might be having piglets.
Best regards Chris

IanFHey Chris
Good news that the pigs are moving on your ground!

Seeing this sort of thing makes me even more keen to obtain a similar trailcam. The results could be interesting!

Husqvarna M98Ian, they are no more than about 120 pounds, uses standard SD-cards, a one Gig card can hold 360+ pics,
thanks by the way,

A weeks wort of pics tells me that the foxes tend to cruise the spot at 21-22 and between 3.30-4.30.
It can be used to monitor unwanted guests as well,
that is me and friend though.
I will see to it to have some more peas put out to the boar.
More pics to come should there be any interest.
Best regards Chris

Alex.YChris,
nice one, good to see what visitors you get, if only one could spend 24/7 on your shooting ground!
those eagles are good looking birds, what are you using for bait?
01 September 2008, 01:05
Husqvarna M98Alex- I was using a bit of roe remains for badgers and fox, skin, bones, innards, second there was some 10 kg of potatoes and peas mixed with some horse minerals, especially the minerals seems like they were tasty.
Yet another pic of the same eagle.

SIKA98KGreat photos of the eagles.I saw a sea eagle for the the first time, and indeed the first live eagle I had ever seen, in Mecklenburg,N.Germany 7 years ago.
I couldn,t believe the wing span ! Fantastic bird to see.
The quality of your trail cam is great.
02 September 2008, 11:39
Husqvarna M98Sika- yes they are magnificent animals,
trail cam pic quality is mostly dependent on the size of pics I preset the camera to take, these are big pics and needs at least a 1 gig memory card.
Still I think I have a bit of a crush on my trail cam, don´t tell my GF, please.
Best regards Chris

Husqvarna M98NV- the camera is a 5 Meg digital scouting camera, mod nr SG550, china made, Day night operation, IOR, ulta low standby,
Uses 8 AAA batteries, I have had it going for 30 days, 94 % of batteries left,
Quick response, or 1,2 sec, can be made to make 15 sek videos, adjusts through a remote, can be hooked up to a computer straight up, if need be. One can have it take 1 2 3 pics at one time triggered, one can adjust sensitivety
I got mine from these guys,

Here is a for sale add.

This is the best combo of price and size that I have seen. Couldn't wait, so ordered off the dreaded auction site!
http://cgi.ebay.com/5MP-Scoutguard-SG550-Scouting-Hunti...QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItemI see they also sell lockable steel cases for the trail cam - pity the shipping is the same price as the case, but in our crowded island I am hesitant about leaving the cam just strapped to the tree.
Be seeing you soon!

Husqvarna M98Gerry- you are so right, I am most solly for my impropel englesh,
that was supposed to be £ not Lbs, however I am but a poor Swede with blond hair and blue eyes, so I feel that I am excused, right Gerry?
200 USD is some 1 500 sek, a decent price compared to what I paid.
Best regards to you all and Ian F, I an looking forward to our little excursion.

GerryChris,
My humble apologies - your English is perfect.... a small joke at your expense; I'll make it up to you with a glass of liquid refreshment in the New Year!
Looking forward to seeing you again.....in the meantime keep up the good work with your camera; after you've taken their live photo do a Before & After sequence.

Cheers,

Gayne C. YoungFor some reason those eagles scare the crap out of me. Don't what I'd do if I was sitting there when one came in.

Husqvarna M98NV- vinter is hard on cameras and gear in general,
I have been forced to take them down for some time.
However this might entertain you all
Gerry thanks, the pics are a great reminder of why we do the things that we do,
I have a few more of the eagles from this winter, a bit messier and duller pics though,
check out that look he is giving the camera,
I am sorry for the slanted camera, apparently I had guests of human sort at the camera, they moved it.
Well that would be all,
last are a few pics from a driven hunt I attented last weekend, no luck however.
Best regards Chris

Husqvarna M98Thanks mate, a steady hand sure makes for decent pics even with a cell phone camera,
I´ll be tending to the grounds this weekend and mind the cameras to,
perhaps I have something nice to show you all.
