DuggaBoyeThat first picture brings back BAD memories-
Apparently, I had forgotten to close the lid to the chicken feed bin the night before--
in the half-darkness of morning I reached into the bin for the old coffee can not noticing the open lid--
I came back up quickly with about 5 lbs of possum attached to my left hand--
As the dust settled and the noise subsided , Granpa who had stealthly appeared --
to inspect the commotion.
Wryly said " Guess you'll remember to close that lid today" --turned and walked off.
To add insult to injury he summoned Grandmother for her--coal oil cut treatment regimen
(to firmly entrench the lesson--or so I believed.)
I have slain every possum I have spied since that day---with prejudice.
