My wife turns 62 the 13th of January. She has been off work due to an injury (not work related). She wants to hang up the scrubs. Is there any advantage to retiring over just quiting? Would she have any greater protection if she retired instead of quitting? Thanks in advance for your input. Rusty We Band of Brothers! DRSS, NRA & SCI Life Member "I am rejoiced at my fate. If she retires, doesn't she get some(?) benefits? If not it doesn't matter, just say good by, and move on. It won't effect her SS at all. Shovel ready..... but hangin' on

Quit or retire, no matter; just figure which one is best and tally ho....pack your bags, head to Argentina or Uruguay and really start life over again..... "When you play, play hard; when you work, don't play at all." Theodore Roosevelt

Or go for a reduced work schedule, keeps you on the active payroll and counts toward social security quarters. _________________________________ AR, where the hopeless, hysterical hypochondriacs of history become the nattering nabobs of negativisim.
