After the hunt is done and the meat processed and bought to the table a good knife is needed to help enjoy the fruits of your endevours. I have been working on a table knife/steak knife design over the last couple of years and now have it where I convinced that it is worthy of presenting to my customer base. There is a His'n'Hers in the pair with the Hers being a fraction shorter in both handle and blade. Blades is NitroV SS with the first pair being spalted buckeye and the second pair with maple burl. These are some of the trial knives I have done and rejected over that time. Make one and use it for long enough to find fault and the make another to try. The top one with linen micarta was the first one of the new design that I was able to use for over 6 months without feeling the need to alter any aspect of it. There are many instances where the main table kn ife may also be needed for the secondary use as a side polate knife for the spreading of a bit of butter on a bread roll etc etc so the forward third of the blade came in for a lot of trialing to get to this point (pun not intended) where it will comfortably accomplish this task as well as it will perform on a steak or clean up round a chop bone. The lower one with the stone washed blade and impala jigged buffalo horn in my traveling knife and stays in the truck for when we eat away from home. Hotel staff have been intrigued to see someone bring their own knife to the table but a comfortable knife is always preferabvle to some random knife offered at another table.

Is there any demand for a matching fork to go with the knife? I think a matching fork would complete the package for the carnivore set. Wooden chargers are a must with such knife beauties. 577 BME 3"500 KILL ALL 358 GREMLIN 404-375 *we band of 45-70ers* (Founder) Single Shot Shooters Society S.S.S.S. (Founder)

I see that. I see a work around being getting a pre made blank canvas fork and modify it to your standards and asthmatics then add on the matching scales if that was desired. Have you entertained making wooden chargers with your logo for an upsale? It would cause me to clutch my pearls to see someone use those beauties on a regular plate and dull your hard work. https://www.etsy.com/market/steak_serving_plates

Hadnt done so but the idea has a lot of merrit and may just cause a testing time with a bit of wood over the coming month or two although the order book keeps me spending too much time on other projects

Von Gruff, Nice looking knives, but steak knives usually come in a wooden box of 6 or 12. Obviously that gets pricey.

I offer them (on my website) singally, as a pair or set of six in any combination of the two sizes or all the one size. Being a custom made item as far as handle material is concerned, a set of twelve is as simnple to order as any combination or any knife on my website for that matter and in many cases much of what I do is often one off designs to suit personal needs/wants and it may go into my general pattern stock if it has wider appeal than the original order. Have a look through my website for information or inspiration. http://www.vongruffknives.com/438133731
