Hi guys, I just purchased a LH 375 Ruger Alaskan.
I would like to start ordering components and was wondering if anyone had used the Cutting Edge Raptors loaded in 375 Ruger.

I was leaning towards the extended range Raptor, and would appreciate any feed back experience and or loads.

You might want to check the twist suggestion on each bullet and compare to your barrel twist. If you are shooting under 400 yards I would say the regular Raptor and beyond 400 the ER Raptor.

Thanks Boom Stick, Web site says 1:12 for the 20" barrel, also the recommended twist rate on the Cutting Edge Site.

The ER looks Like it has less nose projection than the ESP.

The extended raptor also has a better BC, 0.337.
This provides a reasonable bullet out to 300 yards at medium velocities (2600-2700fps),and out to 400 yards at max velocities, (2800-2900fps).

And congratulations on the lefty Alaskan. My wife just got one last week, too. There seems to be a run on them.



It's a great cartridge design. Headspaces on the shoulder for inherent accuracy. The case body is a tapered .532" case for greater capacity in standard length action. Rifle weights are reduced from the long magnum rifles. It can be loaded to a wide range of energies and bullets.

Other interesting bullets include the 250 Barnes TTSX with a .424 BC, and the 200 grain GSC HV at.306 BC, and 250 GSC at .38 BC. We hope to try the CEB, Barnes, and GSC in June and find out which is more accurate in her rifle. As they say, Only accurate rifles are interesting.
