boom stickHornady ad "404 Jeffery 470 NE 500 NE Comming Soon"
Define "Soon"

Hasn't Hornady been promising the 404 for about 2 years or more?
Well I guess it will help bring down the cost of this ammo.

jetdrvrI certainly hope they do, because I want a .404.

RustyThey promised and delivered the 450/400 3 inch.
They will deliver on the 404 Jeffery and others.
Setting up to manufacture items, especially items in large quantity requires a Hell of a lot of prep. Patience young padawan! Waiting is always the toughest part!

surestrikeMe need cheaper .470 brass and bullets and the same for .404....
I am please let these Hornandy components come to fruition. That would be the happiest news I've had in a long long time!

fredj338I don't care so much about the factory ammo, but the availabilty of an affordable domestic .423 bullet is great news.

boom stickDoes this mean Ruger will be making a factory 404???
23 August 2008, 23:33
mr rigbyThey made a Ruger rifle before in .404 so the tooling is there already.
Its fun to know that i might have the rifle in .450 NE that started the process of Ruger & Hornady making the round and rifle .
I like the .404 very much with good 300 grain copper bullets, and 400 grain lead bullets its a fine versatile round + the good soft and hard nosed bullets of other types.
