There was plenty of standing water at the range. We hoped he could help dry things out.

m stevensonDang! That's a great fireball! Looks like the H335 loads I used for fireforming my 35 Whelen AI. My buddies called them the "Holy Shit! You'll start a fire loads""
I'd have loved to have been there, but it's a long way from Northern Michigan.

I was standing behind ISS when he touched these off. Felt the concussion in my rib cage. I took the Pepsi challenge and shot one myself. It's an event! Luckily I dodged the shoulder dislocation and the detached retina. Bob

Idaho SharpshooterLike I said, the recoil system from TMC cuts recoil waaaaaaaaaaaay down. No bruise, no redness or swelling, and absolutely NO pain, and you guys saw me shoot a dozen rounds. June 7th, in Helena, Montana we make the public debut of the 577BME that Boomie 470 and Ed created. I had more ammunition, but Rodney Horum shot half a box at Hogkiller's ranch the day before. Talk about a recoil sponge.

Thanks for letting me shoot the beast. All kidding aside. I was a little worried when I walked up to the line with it. My 470 works me over sometimes,on paper it is not near the rifle those 50's are. .
Your rifle and Jeffe's 500 were both more fun,
to shoot than my Merkel 470. Would my 602 Brono
be a good action for such a rifle.

When I pulled the trigger on that rifle I thought a bomb went off!
I definately found my upper recoil limit! Probably about double my upper recoil limit. You just goota wonder what is gonna survive the shot? The shooter or the shootee.

Thanks for letting me touch one off Rich, and it sure was good to meet ya.

Hog KillerAl, what a perfect timing on that picture.
JTEX, aaahhhh, that is what happened, hehheheeh
Guess I will have to try ISS's 550 Gibbs again with TMC's shoulder pad.

Tyler KempWow good pics!
When I get older you can count me in at one of these shoots
Maybe someone can touch one of out of my 8 lb 45-120 if I get it built. Even 50k loads would probably seem like nothing compared to what you guys shoot!
Love shooting precision and long range. Big bores too!

Tyler KempAnd drive down there.
That's a long road trip for me. Maybe I could get dad to take me. He doesn't shoot guns much at all, just supports my hobby somewhat. Maybe he could get the feel for the 4 bore.

Idaho Sharpshooterjust convince him you need to go to the June 7th rematch in Helena, Montana. You could go to Yellowstone and the Custer Battlefield site and make it a cultural thingie...

.366torqueTyler goes through the course shooting the 45-70??
Also I'd imagine the Bubbas helping you out on having a blast shooting other rifles.

And to quote Boom Stick "I got the hazing of my life here". I think that might be an over statement but you might expect a little of that. We "more senior shooters" do love to see new blood join our fun. But then again no more than we give each other.

But being from Auxvasse you shouldn't have a problem.

jeffeossoAsk GW what happens when you run the course with a 45/70.
"hazing of my life" ... hardly

Idaho Sharpshooteras was posted, we have "adopted" you, and would consider it really cool if you and Dad could make it out there and shoot. You might OD on adult eye candy, but it would be the time of your life. I think your father understands that this is the neighborhood you want to live in, and that this is your extended family. Come to the family reunion!

boom stickWell half the hazing was from being from California and only a little for having a 45-70 so dont worry Tyler.
13 March 2008, 08:22
Idaho Sharpshooterat least you won't have to worry about getting pink earmuffs like Boomie did. How are you with Purple with Barney decals on them? Just kidding, stop it!!
