Just a thought... since the thread dia is 1" on the Ruger number one could you open the action up to accept a 1.25" thread dia.? This would give a bit more meat around the chamber on the barrel side.

One of Us That is correct the gun at bass pro is not a Ruger it is a Clayton Nelson "farky". Total different amimal.
