Again 577 NE Ruger number one.
Just a thought... since the thread dia is 1" on the Ruger number one could you open the action up to accept a 1.25" thread dia.? This would give a bit more meat around the chamber on the barrel side.

I am back from a long Hiatus... or whatever.
Take care.

There's a picture of a Ruger No.1 rebarreled to .577NE over on NitroExpress.com. I believe it was done by a smith somewhere in Australia.

Awesome looking rifle!

The Aussie big bore weekend thread in this forum has a pic of one (possibly the same one) and one of the videos shows a guy shooting it as well.

IIRC Bass Pro Denver has a 600 NE #1 in the fine gun room

If you think every possible niche has been filled already, thank a wildcatter!

The 600 at Basspro in Denver is a farquharson, not based on a Ruger#1.
I think it was made by Clayton Nelson.

I will soon have a #1 in 50/110. Should be able to load it pretty hot if wanted. Not 600 level of course, but pretty zooty none the less.

That is correct the gun at bass pro is not a Ruger it is a Clayton Nelson "farky". Total different amimal.

Does it come with a radio so that the infantry can call you up for fire support?
