RobgunbuilderBoomstick-Do you actually own and /or ever shot a big bore rifle? With all these posts don't you think you should actually have a minimum of real world experience? I have to say this is the oddest situation I have ever run into. Your credibility is at stake. Plunk down a grand or so and speak with experience rather than keep twistling in the wind. Just some good advice and not intended to belittle anyone with limited funding. We all REALLY started someplace. JUST BUY and Shoot something please! Then entertain us with your wildcats!-Rob

Jeffosso is building him a big bore of some type as we speak. He is using the parts that Mike 378 paid for and never received.
I am looking forward to seeing the work as it progresses.

Why do you say that? Jeffe said he would build Boomy a rifle from the parts Mike paid for and never received.
He's probably already started.

Pictures.

boom stickrob...my real world big bore experience is limited i am the first to admit...it is usualy pulling the trigger on my guide gun, counting to three and listening to the 200 yard pig gong at the range and making various wildcat dummies in my garage below where i type. i am greatful to the other cranks here who share my love of wildcats, guns in general and big bores. the added bonus is the friends i have made here who share those interests and others. not many here are perfect people but that adds flavor to the pot. i love your wild creations especialy.
soon my 470 will be finished and the heavens will rejoice.
the other guns i have are kinda boring...a 30-06 rem pump and a couple handguns. like i said before...if i dump my wife and my mortgage i could have a safe full of awesome guns...i just have to be patient.
p,s, thanks teat

500grainsMickey,
I say that Mike378 got ripped off because he paid for something that he did not receive (550 mag parts). Boomstick will not receive the parts that Mike paid for either. Instead, Boomstick will receive free labor from a "gunsmith" instead of the parts that Mike paid for.

That is very kind of you, and especially Mike since his money has already gone into someone's pocket, and that someone did not even have the decency to say Thank You.
Let's home the gunsmithing is competent.

Well Mick,
It's like this: That was the plan. Give Boomy a hand, but I haven't heard from Mike in the last 48 hours, so I'm not sure what is going down

There seems to be some paronoia about the whole project.........I'm not aware of the "ins and outs" but I'm happy to give Boomy a hand so he can compete with you and Dan on a real world basis

500grainsNo one is trying to rehash the .550 thing, as you are getting a .470 instead. Any idea when the .470 will be finished?

500grainsYou are not the one who I was referring to with regard to the Thank You. I was referring to the person into whose pocket the cash went.

as soon as i get a donor ruger stainless action then it is a matter of shipping, chambering the barrel i already shipped to jeffe (he said the barrel contour might need changing, too fat), attaching the barrel, feeding, maybe some magazine work and then jeffe will finish it. he has a blank he is going to use for the stock and the rest pretty much will go the way a regular custom rifle will go. i cant give a day on the calendar but mike has said he would help with the action but it would have to wait till he gets back. hope this gives some clarity.

I'm sure he didn't go for the fun of it, rather as a Public Service.

jeffeossoMike called me the other day, and we had a good chat. The man is a machine, up at 0430 his time and just a engaged as if it was noon. Told be he was going to be out of pocket for a bit.
Now, the fascination with boomy's rifle is complentary certainly. Also It's understandable for a guy that has zero experience in some areas to be a nervous nelly, but, you know, this rifle aint MY first rodeo. Heh, sometimes that nelly reminds me of some of my great aunts sitting around, gossiping as old women!!
Cheers and thanks

I think the curiosity is whether or not you can/will stay on for the full ride. And whether or not you are a Barrel Racer or a Bull Rider.

never = the voice of one level of experience.
Since its boom's project, he's setting the start times.
And, well, since the "parties" involved don't include anyone by boom, mike, and myself, conjecture (especially purposely
ignorant uninformed conjecture) is merely entertaining, in a trainwreck kind of way
