In _African Hunter_ Number 2 of 2007:

Shortened .404 Jeffery Wildcats are busting out allover!

.400 Tembo
.400 Tembo Two
and the 450-400 Tembo: From Edd Woslum and Kevin Robertson, these use .400/350-grain Barnes bullets and the .40 caliber pistol bullets.

.44 Ganyana: Ken Stuart's number that uses .44Mag pistol bullets for "plinking" and .429/425-gr bullets for the big stuff.

These four new cartridges are "dual purpose" rifle cartridges for gentlemen: low recoiling numbers that can use pistol bullets for meat/plinking as well as having heavy softs and solids for dangerous game.

The four new .395's (40-07, .398 Lapua, .395 GSC, and .395 Ruger Max) are "triple purpose" with a trio of HV, FN, and SP bullets from GSC:

1. meat/plinking: .395 cast lead or re-sized .40 cal/10mm pistol bullets for squirrels and such
2. dangerous game: HV and FN at medium to high velocity
3. long range targets: SP at high velocity

Addition of a cup&core 400-grain .395 bullet loaded to 2150 fps should be easy on the shoulder of gentlemen and lady shooters. Cool
Cool

RIP!!

I've begun work on the 70-0-10 on your behalf during the transition from morning Cafe Du Monde and afternoon Spaten Optimator. Looks like a .700 diameter 1500 grain solid should move out at about 3700 FPS. Should this be a CRF repeater or semi-auto?

Do you have a CAD reading app. on your PC? I'll send you the case drawing! Seeing as this caliber is quite diminutive for us - maybe Mr. Satterlee can inflate his M98 type action to accomodate you.

Ok Mr. RIP!

The drawing for the 70-0-10 Express is in your box. Had to redesign the shoulder angle and snout to accomodate the REALLY short slug.

You might rename it the 70-0-10 ICBM

"Inter County Buffalo Mauler"

Max,
Word with The Bird in the Rare Breed Society is "bullets" not beer. Wink

Are you making any progress on drawing down .40 caliber cup and core bullets to .395?

A better quality posting is beyond me.
Surely Macifej could post this in a better format on his 2-Bore site?

Ya'll ainta gonna believe this! Just got home, got the computer up, and came on to the forum. As I was reading RIP's last post above, the doorbell rang-rang-rang. UPS! Box from Lee Precision! Excuse me while I take the red plastic cylinders out of the box.
I'll be darned. I have sizer kits in .401 and .396! Have classes next three nights in a row, but will get these set up and start processing bullets to see where we are.

By the way, yer shot glass went out this morning. Take a libation and think, "Life is good. This project is coming together."

Yes Sir! Exactly what I was thinking!
Performance-wise, the .400 Tembo's and the .44 Ganyana will be eating .395 caliber dust. thumb

The 70-0-10 ICBM Express gives me a headache from just looking at the drawing. Wink

Ok well it probably is toooo much cartridge for plinking. I propose lopping the case in half thereby using the lower section to make the 977 Schnei-duhr. Over diameter magnum length M98 with 3 down would be dandy! No? Don't think BATFE would sign off on the repeater function but worth a try. How many do you want?
