I am building one on a ZKK 602 action.. Why..? Because I cant bloody afford a double in .577 NE.. Do any of you have any actual hunting experience with this round on elephant and perhaps buffalo..? I see Norma load a 540 grain brass bullet to 2400fps and a Woodleigh 570 grainer to 2200fps..what is the best option..?

Great round - though closer to the 577 is the 550 express --- btw, if you want a 500 jeffery, then build it -- if you want a 500 jeffe power level, with FAR more readily available brass, (in my collection, i have a 500 jeffe made from 577 NE brass), that is a great deal easier to have feed, i ask that you consider the 500 Accurate Reloading opinions vary band of bubbas and STC hunting Club Words aren't Murder - Political assassination is MURDER Information on Ammoguide about the416AR, 458AR, 470AR, 500AR What is an AR round? I'm shooting 570g bullets (TSX, A-Frames now and Barnes Banded solids) at 2300 fps. It's a great round. Regards, Chuck "There's a saying in prize fighting, everyone's got a plan until they get hit" Michael Douglas "The Ghost And The Darkness"

Yes , i have. 535gr FMJ bullet from Woodleigh at 2300/2400 fps , i don't know , depending on the temperature in Africa. 3 elefants , 1 buffalo , 1 hippo and 1 warthog. For shooting a warthog you don't need a 500 Jeffery rifle , but for the rest a very good cartridge.
