thunder stickBig Bore Shoot Southern California Saturday November 14, 2009
Well I've seen big bore shoots in TX, AZ, CO, MT etc but nothing in California. Anyone interested in a shoot in Southern California, at the West End Gun Club? If there is any interest I can start working on something. The club is at I-15 and Sierra Hwy. Respond to the post or IM me if you might be interested.
Everything is confirmed Saturday November 14th. We will be using shooting bay #11. 9am until .... Here is the clubs web site for directions.

If in town, I'm game...have 577 T-Rex, some 500's and my 470.

boom stickLet me know the date and most likely yes.

rnoviI'm in. I'll bring my .375 H&H and my .350 RMag (not exactly a bigbore, but what the heck) and a hundred rounds for each.
I've got a membership at WestEnd, but it's only the basic model. Are you thinking of renting one of the bays?

Robert

rnoviFrank, WECG (West End Gun Club) is very near the where I15 and I210 come together in Upland.
Once we get a firm date, I'll make sure you get an accurate map. Or, for that matter, I'll give you my address and we can carpool out.
Besides, you have WAY too many toys that I want to play with!

Robert

delloroI can bring a 45-70 marlin for plinking and a 45-70 T/C too, if the date works out.
if this gets put off long enough, I might have a beer-can mortar ready too.

thunder stickI will be up there this weekend and will check to see what options we have. They have the 100 yard public range and then other shooting bays in the back range. On the 5th Sunday of the month there are no matches set up for the back range. The next month like this is November. When matches are going on during the weekend there still may be some open bays in the back. I will check.

HotRail1Sounds like a great idea, please count me in. I recently picked up a .470 made by Jeffery in 1927 and need to get out and shoot it. Please advise when you have a date and I'll bring it and a few others.

Dago Redif in november I might be able to make it too. I only have my 375 working, my 458 needs some work, definitely won't be shooting by then. I'd pay for any ammo to shoot in others toys, knowing how costly it can be. mostly I just want to fondle your guns and hang out.

gatsbyI would try and make any meeting, if possible. Also, please see the thread on double rifles, SoCal DRSS first meeting. I was at West End on Sat. for my club orientation. I shot 10 rounds around 10 or so and left.

375JohnThunder stick,
A few of us have started the So. Cal. DRSS a month or so ago. We had a double shoot up there a few weeks ago and plan on meeting at least once a month. Take a look at our last post in the double rifle section. Our list consists of about a dozen double rifle shooters. We would be more then happening to join your shoot. How does a few 577 NE, 470 NE and 10 bores sound (600 NE on it’s way)? Ask Frank when you are there about our shoot. John

HAY-MANI'm interested. I've got a .458 Lott, and .375 H&H. Would be fun to put together a couple challenging timed stages with movement simular to what the Zim PH'S / Bigbore shooters do.

Stephen PalosHi Thunder Stick & Co.
I have tentative approval to donate two targets to this cause. Will finalise on 28 Sep at the Exco meeting.
Below is a taste of what we have for you. Life size! You will need to stick the vinyl onto correx board which I'm sure you can get local. I will arrange to have them at Afton House in time.
The other will probably be a frontal buffalo. You can use head & chest. I'll explain the details closer to the time....

rnoviFor anyone shooting this weekend, I'll be headed out to the Main Range with my Dad on Sunday 'round 11am. I haven't been shooting with my Dad in years.
I'm absolutely positive he's going to want to stop off at BassPro on the way home. Damn, what a bummer...

Robert

FjoldWell crap, I was trying to shoot with the boys in Texas this weekend but had to go to Hawaii this week so I couldn't commit to Houston tomorrow. Now I just find out that I have to go to Houston on Nov 11th or 12th and don't know if I fly back Friday or Saturday (the 14th).
Hopefully I can meet up with you guys.
or if I can fly back Friday.
