90 grains of Varget with a .423/340gr North Fork gave an average of about 2640 fps. It appears that max .404 Jeffery loads in this 10% greater case will give about 125 fps less velocity with Varget. The shoulder and neck are well formed, and the neck is a little smoky, and the primers are not flattened at all: low pressure. Lot of air space left with this load, so more Varget is needed. Maybe 95 to 100 grains with a 320 grain GSC HV? This can only get better with a full case of H4350 Extreme lightly compressed, and heavier bullets. Any info on the .423 Dakota-Lapua, which is 0.2" shorter, would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like it'll reach out and touch what ever you decide to hunt on this planet. What kind of rifle are you building around it?
