Here he is, taking a standing shoot

jeffeossoAnyone bringing a 470NE sunday??
This rifle weighs 9# 15.6oz with scope and 4 shots .. would be nice to compare them, head to head, as these loads are right at 2150fps with a 500gr bullet .. and It would be interesting to compare (again) the 470 AR vs 470 NE ....

RustyMaybe it's the new color for the "Bubbas"?
They have been telling us for years that they really are a "sensitive" bunch! And who can argue, that as "Bubbas", they have always been in touch with their inner child?
Que Hombre, Boomie!

The ear muffs are cute, and may even make us more acceptable to Peta. The over exposer to pink may cause limp wrist and could be a danger with anything over 9.3 in cal.

Doug TurnbullI have run into weather problems here in the NE and will not make it to the shoot. I was really looking forward to it. See you another time and place.

That's a real shame, Doug, for lots of reasons. Besides meeting a fine craftsman and seeing your new rounds, I was hoping you had a pair of color case-hardened earmuffs for the event. Seems we have a theme for these events now....
"Experience" is the only class you take where the exam comes before the lesson.

boom stickLots of fun today at hog killers...
Many additions to charging waterjug heaven.
Doug, sorry you can't be here. Lots of people looking forward to meet you including me.

MacifejPhotos???
Great!
Boomer demonstrates how easily he controls 470 NE ballistics from the handy-dandy 470 AR!
Is that a Ruger or a Mauser?
Life is good!
Boomer gotta boom stick, Daddy gotta squeeze box, Momma never sleeps at night ...
I just felt like singing something, whether it makes sense or not.

We awoke to about a foot of snow in my part of Kentucky today.

boom stickHehehe...
Shot the 375, 416, lott, and some others but the 550 express 700@2150 and 550 Gibbs 615@2480 was the most interesting.
Hope jeffe posts the video soon...
The 470 is a 7 mag conversion.

Heh heh...
Everything is subjective... In felt recoil it is the lott x2 but as others have said if you need it or if game was in yer sights you would not think about it with the adrenaline flowing.
I think the vids will show these beasts can be used well. Once you overcome the fear of the perceived recoil you can become proficient in them.

Sadly Rich encountered some technical dificulties with his action and left it at home

Will have to shoot it at the next get together.
I eagerly await load development of the 1000 grainers in the 577 BME.

Thanks. Just to reconfirm, since Boomer was so giddy about his pink earmuffs, he forgot to mention it. I was recollecting a Ruger by a Texas Smith, in his own proprietary line of cartridges.

MJinesJeff and Rusty,
Thanks for putting on a fantastic event. That had to be one of the largest big bore assemblies in history. Had a great time. Thanks again.
