I want you to know that in reality, I regret our latest Internet squabble. I think we both have very short fuses. I suggest that in the future we both use the Ignore feature of this site and avoid further 1:1 discussions. -Rob

RGB,

I am in complete agreement with the personality assessment. I would suggest that we are both very passionate about shooting, especially regarding big bore rifles. I do not intend to "Ignore" you here, you bring waaaaay too much to the table to deprive me of the education and experience you have. I just think we both need to think a bit more about what our comments may signal to the other, and for me at least; to the readership here.

My apologies as well to the rest of you reading this.

RGB is a good guy, we just started off on the wrong foot.

No hard feelings here.

Idaho Sharpshooter- Well said and I too will be more controlled in my reactions. Lets see if we can co-exist here without using the Ignore function.
No hard feeling here either.-Rob

How about a New CZ550 for the boy (picked up fresh from the dealer this very after noon)?

Not a Red Rider BB gun, but it should still work. Of course, I'll have to "hold on" to it until he gets a little bigger.

I hope I can manage . . .

Rob and I are both very passionate about shooting and hunting, etc. We had a little difference of opinion about an issue and let our pride and position get away with us. We said a few things about the other that were not very Christian or up to AR standards. We settled it, but for those of you who may have read some things we posted; we felt we needed to make a public apology. I am occasionally a bit over reactive, and I should take ten seconds longer to think...the old "...engage brain before putting mouth in gear..." about controversial things.
I have always respected what RGB has had to say, and I do to this day. I learn from him, and I hope I make him stop and say "hmmmm..." from time to time. He's a great guy, and has an awful lot to offer here in the big bore forum especially.

VR1
338 Lapua- 408 Cheytac- 505 Gibbs

Distinctive from all others the VR1 is the only Semi-Auto Autoloader on the market chambered in the 408 Cheytac or 505 Gibbs. It is also available in 338 Lapua. The 408 Cheytac cartridge is a highbred, with confirmed kills out to 1 mile from trained hands. The VR1 holds three 408 Cheytac - 505 Gibbs or five 338 Lapua cartridges. The 338 Lapua is NATO and ammo is in military armaments, RAUFUS-AP-API are available, the cartridge proves well out to 1500 yards. VR1 shoots 1 MOA accuracy with 338 Lapua or 408 Cheytac in trained hands. The VR1 is not your typical M16 type conversion sniper rifle. We take great pride in the fact we completely manufacture it from the ground up. Our true 2-stage trigger with oil-lite bearings for a consistent reliable trigger pull. There are four sizes of bipods and a monopod available for different shooting requirements they change out in seconds. Our sling is attached to the internal frame of the rifle so an accidental dropping of the rifle due to sling pull is eliminated. The sling design also enables it to double as a turnacate. The Mill-Spec scope rail is mounted with (TORX-FHCS) this precision aligns the scope with the barrel eliminating bullet shift at different distances. Our safety is ambidextrous push type ( Fail Proof) with easy visual identification. We use a rotary screw bolt system that screws the bolt shut; this feature virtually eliminates the required force for opening and shutting the bolt. This is one of the key reasons that we are the only manufacturer able to make the 408 Cheytac cartridges shoot flawlessly in a Semi-Auto Autoloader. Rotary lock rifles usually use a spring loaded ejector, which can cause jams with high rate fire, the VR1 uses a Rotary screw bolt and fixed ejector for sure ejection and no jams. It is unusual to find a large caliber Semi-Auto Autoloader rifle that shoots as accurately and reliably as the VR1.

BENEFITS - A Long-range PRECISION SNIPER RIFLE (PSR) with quick follow up shots due to low recoil of Semi-Auto operation and Autoloading. Quick detachable magazines for instant load selection and increased firepower. Robust strudy design that easily assembles and breaks down with no tools in under a minute with no loss of bullet impact. Easily concealable, no assembly being longer than 33 inches. Variable caliber interchangeable barrels. A gas forward design allowing for longer periods before cleaning due to gases not entering the receiver area. Our list is long and all the innovations in this new rifle certainly cannot be described on a concise white paper. The technology and engineering in this rifle are instantly noticeable. VR1 is technolgy at it's finest.

We are easy to work with and willing to work with you.

the real question is would you be caught dead with that thing within reach?. 20 miles? How about 20 yards?

Class: this is definitely a case of having money and no sense of esthetics, anything is possible.
