ConBoomy,
If you want to play spy and are going back tommorow (its the last day right?) ... idle up to Remington and ask who the Australian importer will be ... likewise Marlin.
Then show that 425WR based on a 300RUM to Remington's bean counters ... they're dumb enough to go for the bait

Cheers...
Con

boom stickI was drooling over the kevlar 375...
06 February 2008, 03:42
RogerBoomstick,
Any word from either Ruger or Hornady as to future Hawkeye chamberings. Hornady is making special 404 Jeff loadings and was hoping maybe they may bring out the HE in 404.
I'm holding off on the 375 until I here more.
Enjoy the show and Vegas.

Idaho SharpshooterI spoke with lots of folks in the industry who follow what is going on here, primarily in the Big, Medium, and Small bore forums. Much of what is posted here is repeated and printouts are passed around firearms and ammunition manufacturers management meetings. One media liason rep told me we are looked at to see what the edge is like...doers not observers in the game.

RIPI'll be danged, sumwun besides Ruger chambering for the .375 Ruger.
Must be a worthwhile cartridge, that .375 Ruger, what?
08 February 2008, 11:13
MacifejThat's not just anyone that's Steyr!! The only independant original manufacturer who actually invented their own stuff. Maybe there is a secret Austrian/American merger coming??

370 Sako Magnum
I like it!! Another Factory 9.3!!

.366torqueWith Hornady rumors they'll be producing 404 Jeffery ammo, anyone in NA hinting on chambering it?
08 February 2008, 23:27
boom stickHowa is chambering the 375 ruger in the Howa Axium as well
I find the Axium interesting cuzz of the removable stock and its recoil reducing design.
09 February 2008, 08:18
RIPOh yeah. "DO NOT LIFE FIRE!" that Steyr in .375 Ruger.
They want you to "life fire" the .375 Steyr instead?

09 February 2008, 08:32
MacifejRIP!!
That's subtle East Austrian Code for "Death Fire Only"
09 February 2008, 17:01
.366torqueHmm! Reduces felt recoil by 70% they say. That'll make for a nice 375!
09 February 2008, 17:11
.366torque Steyr says 10+1 for the 9.3x62, so rechamber it for the 370 and have a BLAST!!
10 February 2008, 02:23
surestrikeYo Boom Boom,
What is the length of the barrel on the Talketna?
10 February 2008, 03:34
boom stickdont know...guessing 22"-24"
not too long not too short.
Sorry I cant be more specific.
10 February 2008, 03:36
500grainsI wonder if H&H is going to copy Steyr's sleek design and tasteful white lettering....
10 February 2008, 04:37
Moose-HunterI think Steyr gets the award for making the ugliest rifles on the market.
10 February 2008, 05:35
Headachesurestrike,
The Talkeetna has a 24" barrel.

What do you think about the Talkeetna? I'd like far better with bottom metal!
11 February 2008, 00:27
Idaho SharpshooterIt is a dandy, and around $2100 suggested retail. I have been friends with one of the wheels at Kimber for about twenty years. They will be forcing me to make a choice as to whether I want to test drive the Caprivi or Talkeetna in 458 Lott next month. They are also nudging me to drive up to the factory and build my own. I am thinking the T-model is going to be a real winner in Alaska, if we can wean you guys off that midget 375R!!

CanuckI figured you'd be hatin' the Kimbers, ISS. Afterall, your main justification for loving the CZs so much was the price.

You can get two Ruger Alaskans for the price of a Talkeetna.

Cheers,
Canuck
