I had a chance to look at .375 H&H and .458 Lott CZ 550s this weekend and both of them had a lot of "creep" in the triggers. Is that typical?

Never worry about theory as long as the machinery does what it's supposed to do.

I dont' know if it is supposed to be that way as I have only ever handled a few of them and wasn't really watching that. They are a set trigger though, so I would expect a bit of play, but they might be adjustable. There are also aftermarket triggers available for them now if you don't lik ethat one.

Can I ask, was the 458 Lott stamped properly or was it one of the first ones that had 458Win crossed out? Just wondering if they have sold enough that they are into new product with proper stamping now.

The creep is adjustable. I've turned the adjustment screw to the end of its travel, eliminating all creep. The trigger is actually very good now, a bit heavy (may be adjustable too) but that's how I like it on this bigger caliber rifle.

Not sure if you mean creep or take up. You can adjust the take up out of the trigger almost completely. I think that CZs (at least my two) have great triggers.

Dago Red -- I have one of the early CZs in .458 Lott, and all they did was stamped .458 Lott above the original stamp (.458 win mag). It doesn't even match. I thought I had bought a conversion when I took delivery of it.
