A fun thought... One could make 70-150 brass from 50 BMG turned on a lathe to create the proper shoulder dimensions, taper and neck thickness. Rimmed like the 12gfh or rimless. Depending on platform used this could be loaded hot for big and nasty stuff or just use use nominal loads in your 1887 lever action shotgun. Just a thought but a fun one. 60k psi 70-150 could be lots of fun Bubba 700 NE! 577 BME 3"500 KILL ALL 358 GREMLIN 404-375 *we band of 45-70ers* (Founder) Single Shot Shooters Society S.S.S.S. Definitely a cool old American caliber. Many years ago, perhaps in the '90s I saw an original 1887 Winchester in this chambering but the gun was very well worn. While huge by US standards it is really nothing in the horsepower department when compared to some of the larger bore rifle rounds of the UK makers. Pretty rare gun you saw. It must have been pretty potent compared to other North American carts of the time like the 50-70, 45-70, 50-110 ect. A +p modern pressure equivalent would be damn powerful. 577 BME 3"500 KILL ALL 358 GREMLIN 404-375 *we band of 45-70ers* (Founder) Single Shot Shooters Society S.S.S.S. (Founder)

Boom: Compared to US rounds the .70-150 is huge. A friend in Kansas (whom I will visit in two weeks for a turkey hunt) has an old Winchester cartridge board with the .70-150 on it. It really is a unique piece of American firearm history and it's a shame more were not produced in the last decade of the 1800s. Somewhere I have an article and pic of an 188 in this chambering. I have always been interested in large and unique guns and rifles. No doubt this is one of them. It seems the Captech 12 gauge cases are being necked down for use on repro 1887s to resurrect the cart. How cool would a +p case be. 577 BME 3"500 KILL ALL 358 GREMLIN 404-375 *we band of 45-70ers* (Founder) Single Shot Shooters Society S.S.S.S. (Founder)
