Jimmy, did I tell you what happens when you hit a boar with a hawkgernade?
Feral hogs are the only game in texas that hunts back... noble, savege, beasts!!

I am imagining smashing an ant with a 16lb sledge...am I close?

Pigs make great game animals...mean, stinky, and you kill 2 and 4 more pop up in their place.
Neal, didn't mean to hijack...thanks for the post.

jeffeossoJimmy,
hitting the ON side shouler results in a detached OFF side shoulder on the pig!!

Idaho SharpshooterNeal.
I am thinking the 600-650gr area may be the most effective (overall) bullet weight if it will go 2400fps. Thanks again for the work you are doing.
The brass came Monday afternoon...thank you.

RNSThe 600-650gr in what case?
The 550 Express?
The 550 Magnum is at 2375 fps with a 700gr and I am still playing it safe.
The 550 Gibbs will probably break 2500 with a 700gr.
I assume we are talking about jacketed bullets and not solids which take up more case capicity.
I still think 2300 with a 700gr is the perfect load for recoil and energy.

Idaho SharpshooterNeal,
the Gibbs case. Will have dies and a reamer shortly and let you know.

jeffeossoI can run a 665gr cast, 550 express, with a 23" tube, 2321fps, before I quit. From that, 2300 with a 650 jacketed should be easy, and add another 200fps for the magnum.
