Pressing business on many fronts, so I have to keep this brief, then I will be disappearing for a couple of weeks: Big Five: .308 Lapua-Chui .338 Lapua-Simba .375 Lapua-Nyati .423 Lapua-Kifaru .458 Lapua-Tembo This allows the hunter to use one rifle action with switch barrels, for plains game to Jumbo, or have a couple of complete rifles or all five. The new nomenclature reflects the feline carnivores of the Big Five on the calibers most likely to be used for plains game: .308 and .338 Use the .375 on up to satify all legal requirements anywhere for Dangerous Game. Ha!/DOA will be back to calling the .475 Gibbs and .510 Gibbs respectively: .475 Supernova and .510 Big Bang These are just stunt rifles anyway. Of course, the .416 Rigby, .505 Gibbs, .408 Cheyenne Tactical, and .470 Mbogo will also be offered eventually, but here is the problem: Firstly, we need an action that can handle 70,000 psi in the .408 Chey-Tac, to do all the Gibbs cats on. Secondly, the .470 Mbogo is a separate issue due to incompatibility with the basic Lapua/Rigby feed job on our switch barrel. Thirdly, and least significantly, the .416 Rigby can wait for service, as there are so many available rifles in this chambering already. So the flagship of HA!/DOA will set sail with crew as follows, all Brothers Lapua: .308 Chui .338 Simba .375 Nyati .423 Kifaru .458 Tembo. PS: This is a parody of the .423 Dakota-Lapua Joint Project by Dakota Arms and Lapua. This has been brought to you as a joint project between Hilltop Arms, Inc. and Dead-On Accurate Ammunition, Inc. i liked the 475 and 510s original names...hope you dont like yes men... when i get my 475 for my invaluble contributions to the company i will secretly call it my kifaru i think a lot here would be offended by the 375 being called the nyati because it is not a true big bore (over.40 cal) but your the boss... when i get "boom stick arms" and "boom stick ammo" off the ground i can make those executive decisions myself...cant wait for people to say man what a nice b.s. you got there where ya goin??? hope it involves wine (or bourbon or scotch) squaws and adventure... convention 577 BME 3"500 KILL ALL 358 GREMLIN 404-375 *we band of 45-70ers* (Founder) Single Shot Shooters Society S.S.S.S. Nothing wrong with stunt rifles. See you in a while. "Experience" is the only class you take where the exam comes before the lesson. | |||
