Thebear_78Just dropped off the rifle, going to be a 458 LOTT
I just dropped off my Winchester 70 classic in 300 win mag to get turned into a 458 LOTT. The smith talked me into doing the winchester over the enfield, all stainless being better for alaska. I went with 24" barrel, accuracy inovations stock and muzzle break with cap for use while hunting, MB for range work. Still up in the air on sights and scope.

Thebear_78As far as scope goes I was thinking about either a 1.5-5 or 1.75-6 Leupold, or maybe a VXII 2-7x33 or 1-4x20. The 2-7 is a really hard scope to beat for versatility.

Thebear_78I have a couple scouts and realy like the 2.5 leupold scout scope. I was really thinking about doing up that p17 just like yours but already have a pop up peep setup on this winchester and was going to go with standard style scope.

skl1When I called Leupold and asked about scopes for the Lott I thought he'd push me to the fixed power. But he sort of was pushing the 2.5-8 VariX3. Since I was happy to get a little more magnification, that's what I went with.
So far, about 80 rounds downrange and no problems.
