boom stickthe elusive 10.75x57...
does anyone have anything on this cart???
makes my 411x57 seem down right practical...
here is a refference...it is a german cart so maybe our euro friends can shed some light.
http://www.african-hunter.com/the_9_3_x_62_mauser.htmThe 10.75x68 is headspace borderline ... the x57 ... no thanks!
Cheers...

boom stickthose wacky gemans...
like i said...makes the 411x57 seem down right conservative...
the 10.75x57 would basicly be a short version of the 10.75x68 but in the smaller action. kinda like danny devito and arnold schwarzenegger in the movie "twins"
this is not a wildcat idea of mine but a real historical cart from the early 1900's
I actually have a couple of 10.75x57's. I have not found time to get them up and running but here is a reference when I asked

ah, boomie, close, but not exactly right
the x57 round has a 12mm casehead (.473) while the x68 has a 12.5mm (roughly) casehead, or .495 .. that's nearly 20 thou of headspace gone, if at the same angle.
.473-.01 taper, .460, -.423 for bullet, .037, -.020 for THIN caseneck thickness, that leaves .017 TOTAL headspace, and then -.003 for clearance, that's .007 per SIDE for headpspace.. 4 sheets of paper, TOTAL
i'll pass
Ray Atkinson had a 10.75 x something for sale recently. Not sure as I am not a metric guy. You might try contacting him.

boom stickyes, i was aware of that but i did not clearly imply that.
the 10.75x57 is the most extreme of headspacing if it is on the non shoulder
it is a 423 hawk short

boom stickthe 10.75-284 is a much better option on the .470 boltface

Paolo9,5x73If you were important enough they would chamber just about anything. Just look at those break open "Duki Guns". At one time or another we see posts from confused Americans trying to use grandpas bring back guns with weido chmaber specs.

I think even that one is borderline close ... hence why the 416/284 McPherson had reduced case taper and ever so slightly blown out shoulders. A .411 however ...

AtkinsonBoomstick,
Your losing it big boy
way to much time on your hands. punch it out to 10.75x68 and run with it...
Boomstick is the ultimate wildcatter, a worse habit than team roping or trading guns, we will both die in the poor house as a result of descretions.
