As soon as the barrel makers offer a threaded chambered barrel for a LR 98 I've got a Zastava built 7mm mag that's going to get rebarreled.

So I still count as zero, but patiently (ok anxiously) waiting.

Hi
I am down in Australia and three days ago I received a 375 Ruger reamer from Dave Manson Precision Reamers. Dave also organised a set of Hornady 375 Ruger Dies which arrived with the reamer. I have a Rugger 77 Mk2 in 338 on which I had planned a 416 Taylor. It will now be a 375 Ruger. I am waiting on some cases which Dave is in the process of organising. Hope to have the rifle ready by mid May as i am going to Darwin for about 6-8 weeks and would really like to test it out on the local wildlife population. Cool

Colin,
Hey, hey, hey! We know where to get .375 Ruger reamers now.

That is wonderful humanitarian relief service by Dave Manson, sendings a Care Package like that all the way to Australia. What a guy/businessman! Customer service!thumb

Could you tell us what Dave Manson says the shoulder angle, neck length and shoulder diameter of the reamer are? Oh yes, the length from base to end of neck, and the base diameter of the reamer specs?

Come, now, surely you have a drawing from Dave? A scan and an email might be too much to ask, but please just dribble some reamer specs our way, pretty please. thumb

Hey RIP,

you're a big enough dork most of the time anyway, don't stress trying to be on center stage all the time.

Any competent reamer maker (especially one like Dave) can read the mike all over a loaded round and get the dimensions. Especially if somebody at Hornady gave him some sample brass while he was bumming around the SHOT Show.
I can give you Dave's number and you can ask him, or is that too simple?

As an aside, only dorks give themselves nicknames...the good ones come from your friends. Might I suggest "the dingle"? Whatcha think: Ron "the dingle" Berry? Sounds kinda catchy doesn't it?

regards,

Rich

Colin,
Funny he didn't send a reamer drawing. He has in the past, and did with some reamers I got from him recently. Miking and guessing from factory ammo gets me close, but I don't think anyone has put the complete and official specs on the net, yet. I wonder if someone has been asked to keep it close to the vest?

I measure .530" for the head and rim, on factory ammo, and we know the max brass spec there is supposed to be .532", so that makes sense. That is the solitary dimension I am sure of.

Thanks for any future info if you get it. I don't like to pester Dave Manson if I don't have to, and his time should not be squandered.

Colin,
Do you mean White Bison's poem to the Newton?
If so it is not precise enough.
We want the official specs, not a creative interpretation of brass and caliper medley.
