Or is it cheaper and easier to screw a belt on 50 BMG brass.

This would be a great case for a 600, 700, 12 and 10 bore cat. aka Boom Sticks Boyes Aircats
Thanks.

Well, you know that it will be BERDAN PRIMED if it is British. I do not know if there is any Canadian made Boyes ammunition.

All British cartridges were loaded with corrosive mercuric primers, so if you buy fired cases there may be an issue of case neck splitting.

All very true. Plus dubious metallurgy on old brass. Boomer needs to find something more modern to toy with.

Well maybe Jamison will make some 50 bmg brass and add a belt banana

That will be pretty much the Boyes case...

The belted BMG to .729 (12 GA.) will be cool.

Rebarrel a 50 bmg with a rifled 12 gauge barrel for some Godzilla hunting.

Ever shot one?

At one time us hard-up Brits decided that we could also have a 50 calibre rifle but without the need to spend any money!

So out came the in-store 55 Boyes Rifle. Some brave soul, an acquaintance, was then "volunteered" to demonstrate it. Ten rounds rapid at an oil drum some xxx or yards away.

At the end of the demonstration both oil drum and my friend looked as if they required urgent medical assistance! The British Army's dream of a "cut price" and "in house" anti-material rifle died!

They used to come up for auction sale in the UK. When I first started dealing in guns some thirty years or so ago they made only about £70 at auction when an No4(T) was making £240 and a standard No4 around £40.

Last one I saw sold in UK was ten years ago. It made £700. Ammunition was effectively banned in the 1980s or 1990s when a prohibition came into UK Law on armour piercing ammunition and armour piercing bullets.

The rifles are still legal here and, we have of course gun licences, can be held on the same gun licence as a standard hunting rifle. We don't have any "destructive device" category for anti-material rifles as in US.

I have a few cases, but they were 12 bucks each.
Which is why I put a belt on BMG brass for
my 700H and 700HE. I necked on to 50cal,585,
shrunk a little for 550 bullet,
I have one I necked up with
600NE slug in it, a 12ga in one for a belted
12bore(.729) round, a .750 cal in one , but
to much costs. You can only build so much
stuff and using collectors cases cost to
much. They are worth 20 bucks or more.Ed
