465H&HDefinately not practice bullets at that price but still doable for the few you will shoot at buff or lion.

ShortandFatThis is good news, but I just don't know why more bullet makers don't settle half way
A strong 450g projectile even a partition, would be great, to give a blend of flatter trajectory and heavy hitting weight, surely a 450 grain projectile would be a better alrounder
Tell me why isn't there more 450 grain 458 projectiles, ?

SGraves155450 gr A-frames are great.
Here is what sounds like a deal on some 458 ammo:
http://gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.asp?Item=104084064I totally agree, recently I obtained a 1964 vintage Browning FN-LE in .458WM and have wanted one for some time. I intend to customize this rifle and REALLY want to shoot 450s in Grizzly loads.
I have a bunch of 400 SAFs from my .45-70 lever guns and managed to find two boxes of 450 SAFS, about "perfect" for my uses, IMHO. A 450 NP would be just EXACTLY what I dream of, but, ......

Tyler Kemp>$4 a bullet...are you kidding me? I've never seen anything so expensive, Barnes would surely be better anyways!
Love shooting precision and long range. Big bores too!

wrongtargetThe Speer African Grand Slam .458" 500gr with tungsten core was $5 or more each when they were available!

Tyler KempAt least you can say something special about your bullet...mine has a tungsten core! Instead...well my bullet is 80% the price of a tungsten core bullet and doesn't do anything spectacular.
Of course I guess it will be about the same price as loaded ammo for the bigger calibers.

ClaymanI'll jump on the bandwagon with everyone else here - the cost is FAR to exorbitant to justify. Yes, I understand they're "the cheapest part of a hunt" when going after DG, but that doesn't open the floodgates... I don't understand why they priced themselves so far out of line with their competiton on something that's really not significantly different than their other, existing products. The .416's aren't close to that expensive, and it falls off pretty steeply from there on down. I'm sure they're very good, but so are a lot of other, cheaper bullets for the same purpose.

AtkinsonI have a life time supply of 416 Noslers. all Nosler seconds.......and they are awesome on buffalo, the partitions is set further forward and they blow the front lead off and the petals expand back and they look like an advertising picture of an expanded Barnes X. I love them.
Maybe in time some .458 seconds will show up.

Michael RobinsonI don't get it. How can Nosler justify that price?
I know that they have to recover tooling costs, but at that price those bullets flat out will not sell.
