Just wondering that myself.
Ganyana says they are based on the 404 Jeffery.
Tiny little pic of an ammo box makesthem look like they might be close to fulllength 404 Jeffery cats.
Have they finally copied Saeeds .375/404?

Not much at the Blaser site:

Blaser Magnum
New generation of cartridges by Blaser and Norma

7mm Blaser Magnum
.300 Blaser Magnum

.338 Blaser Magnum
.375 Blaser Magnum

In cooperation with Norma, Blaser has developed a brand new generation of high-performance cartridges. No existing calibres were copied. Instead, the latest ammunition technology was applied to achieve the optimum performance in each calibre group. A pleasant change in the history of ammunition: Both high-quality manufacturers were equally keen to avoid any compromises with the production of their joint venture.

The product development was determined by the following key factors:

notably increased precision values
higher performance in terms of energy and speed at low gas pressure
more comfortable recoil effects
enhanced reliability
perfectly suitable for reloading

Thanks to an optimised cartridge geometry, stable cartridge base and modern powder types together with 4-groove barrel profiles and adapted twist rates, all development objectives have been achieved.
To start with, Blaser will distribute loads with NolserAccubond and Barnes TSX cartridges whereas Norma will offer additional loads under their own company label.
All Blaser R93 models can now be ordered in the new calibres. Delivery of rifles and cartridges starts from August 2009.
A detailed brochure containing more information and specifications is available at Blaser from May 2009.

Jay,
a .395 BM would get an extra case in the mag box and be almost as powerful as the .395 Tatanka. It would be about like the .398 Lapua Magnum for case capacity.

For specs we will be left to guessing from an ammo box picture of the cartridge.

They are still gaurding the secrets. Ammo won't be available until August, 2009 says Norma, and Steve:

New Blaser Magnum cartridges
Blaser, in partner ship with Norma, will be introducing a new line of magnum cartridges later this year. They are not giving out any detailed information until May, but they have said these are completely new cartridges, not based on any previous designs.
7mm Blaser Magnum, .300 Blaser Magnum, .338 Blaser Magnum and .375 Blaser Magnum
Factory cartridges will be sold by Blaser and Norma and will be available in August along with Blaser R93 rifles chambered for them.

I've been wanting an R93 Pro for a while but don't care for the 375 HH or 416 Rem and the 9.3 is a little light. This could be the ticket. Of course, once Norma starts selling the brass into supply lines the bastardizing can begin ... rotflmo

In .395 land - wondering how phat a blank McGowen can make ...??

A blown up thumb scan looks like the 7mmBM is a shortie.
300, 338, 375, and 395BM will be long. Wink

Can those Blaser R93s be rebarreled in the garage at home?

There may be a problem for USA shooters.

I have been told that the reason that Blaser did not bring in the 45 BLASER into the USA is that the names Blazer and Blaser for ammunition is alreaty "owned" [copywrited maybe???], by Speer.

Because of this they could not bring in any ammo marked "Blaser".

The whole barrel and chamber are hammer forged in a single operation. I suppose it's possible to duplicate the entire barrel manually from a blank if you had some excellent equipment. There's no way to adjust the headspace that I'm aware of so precision or trial and error would be your choices. Could increase the material section in the chamber area to compensate for the lower spec material of the new barrel. This would require some stock mods around the locating studs too.

Sure it's doable - when do we begin ..?? rotflmo

A .395 Blaser in an R93 ... thumb

Gotta saw the barrel off to 20" and mount a 6x ACOG on top! Closest thing to a semi'auto .395" battle rifle ... Big Grin

( need to fab a 10 round detachable mag with a big chrome release button too!! )
