I lost my 14 old son in an accident at our house 6 years ago tomorrow. A lot of things stopped for me that day. By far the worst day of my life. He was my shooting buddy and I will always really miss him. He went to all the gun shows with me and loved to hunt. Life goes on every day, but sometimes it really sucks. All of you do me a favor and give your kids an extra hug tonight at bedtime. thanks

You have to lean forward in the foxhole, and drive on. Pain takes a long time to lessen.

My thoughts are with you my wife lost her only son to an accidental shooting just prior to us meeting.

I see the sorrow that she goes thru very often, and I feel totally helpless at those times.
Its something you will never totally get over but It will get easier as time goes on as I can attest with my wifes improvements in her loss.

Again my thoughts are with you.

Bigdoggy,

I'll send up a prayer to you tonight. I cannot imagine what that must feel like--no matter how long ago .

I kissed my little girl as I left home at 4:30 this morning as she was sleeping-- they are a true treasure that we steward while they/or we are on this planet.

Hang tough buddy!!!!!

Just came on this thread now. Even though it's a few days late, I'll say a few words for you and your family tonight.

I'm sorry for your loss. I know your pain. My son would have been 23 last week had he not died of a brain tumor when he was 7. I still miss him and always will. All I can say is time does help heal.

It would be hard to fathom the depths of your pain, and occasional despair.

We can pray that things get better for you and your wife. Hold tight to all of the good memories.

God Bless,

Rich

I'm sorry, and receive my full support in this difficult time. I remember six years ago I gave my condolences in this forum. In my country say that a person does not die as long as someone remembers it.

A hug,

Oscar.

Bigdoggy, I lost my father on March 23, so the feeling of loss is still very fresh in my heart. But in the case of Dad, it was his time to go home. It would be excruciating to lose a young son. Please accept my sorrow.

Lost my brother, then father. My job now is to outlive my mother- amounts to nothing compared to losing a child, I watched my parents do it. They never got over it, but rather lived a bit differently, not badly, afterwards.

I'm sometimes suspicious that we go when we're supposed to, often times that is cold comfort to us who remain.

I too hope you and yours find peace.

thanks for all the kind words. It has been 6 years and Kyle is still mentioned daily at our household with our family. I never knew you could miss someone this hard for this long. I have lost several family members early, including my twin brother last year at 49 when he lost his battle with cancer. Joe and I did everything together and lived 3 blocks from each other for the last 30 years. Because of Kyle's loss, I knew I could get through it. Good company for each other up there.
