A few weeks ago I had the great pleasure of purchasing American Hunting Rifles, Inc. from my good friend Ed Plummer. The company will stay right here in the Bitteroot Valley of Montana and will employ the same craftsmen that have been building our fine rifles. Ed will stay on in sales, marketing and new product development. We have redesigned the website, www.hunting-rifles.com with new products like our 700 AHR and a special page for CZ owners who might want to upgrade their rifles. It may take a few days for all of the ISP's around the country to update to the new website, but keep trying. We look forward to hearing from you and let me know what you think of the website. We also look forward to seeing some of you in Reno in January at the SCI show. This is an exiting time for us here at AHR. Regards, Wayne Jacobson

![]() This is an outstanding deal, and I've got a few that need this: "CZ Upgrade #1 $495 We straighten, fill, and lift the bolt handle. Install our 3-position safety and a single-stage trigger." http://www.hunting-rifles.com/CZ/CZowners.htm ![]()

Thank you guys for your support. We are going to keep the website current with new photos and products so there will be new stuff to see. boomie, yes we still have the Howell line of cartridges. A quick ream job gives near magnum performance out of a standard length action. It is better than the AI rounds and we have head stamped brass and reloading dies. We also have Howell basic brass for the wildcats. Thanks again, Wayne Jacobson

will that be wheat "flours" with the ribbons? You know some of the folks here are gluten intolerant...maybe we could opt for fleur de Lis instead? ![]() Rich DRSS Knowledge not shared is knowledge lost...

Great to hear... Howell is such a great man and his carts are great as well. I know his health is not so good but it would be great to see him get to Africa some day since his life has been devoted to the gun world and he has never gone. 577 BME 3"500 KILL ALL 358 GREMLIN 404-375 *we band of 45-70ers* (Founder) Single Shot Shooters Society S.S.S.S. Wayne, this is the first time I viewed your website...and I like it. Congrats on being the new owner, and I believe I will be owning one of those very nice rifles in a big bore caliber. The special you are running on a new rifle purchase by years end is outstanding. 3 questions I have, 1. Are the stocks on the "new" 550 action rifles slimmed down some? 2. Can you get the stock slimmed down on one of the options for existing 550 owners? 3.How long is the wait for 1 of the first 10 700AHR rifles? Thanks

Bitterroot, Congratulations on the new business. I like the website is does a better job than the previous version.
Woodrow S I believe I read (on the previous website) that AHRs stocks were patterned after Jerry Fischers stocks. They certainly looked a hell of a lot better than the factory czs do! I am sure Bitterrot can correct me if I am in error. Best Regards, Dave

Woodrow S, thank you. I'm not sure of the meaning of your first question. Our stocks are custom made for you one at a time. If you want it slimmer in the grip or for-end just let us know. If you want it heavier, we can do that also. They are slimmer than the factory stocks. Question 2. I have refinished some factory CZ stocks and after we take off the factory checkering they are quite slim. I think the profile is fine for a .375 and maybe a .458. Anything larger and you want more for-end to hang on to. Some CZ stocks have some nice looking wood under the gunk they call a finish. CZ uses an opaque stain that hides the grain. In reality, you're only a couple hundred bucks away from a nice piece of English walnut compared to a refinish and re-checker of a factory stock. Question 3. The first three rifles are nearing completion and total production time has been about 9 months. Half of that time was waiting for barrels and actions. Barrels and actions are in stock now for future rifles. New orders will be completed in 4 to 5 months. Thank you again, Wayne

Wayne, thanks for the quick response. You answered my questions. I am really thinking of ordering one of the DGR in the 600 OK, just pondering whether I can handle the recoil of it. I don't think I am quite as tough as Safarikid. I noticed the DGR in 585 and 600 OK do not come with the banded front sight, but the one on the homepage appears to have one. I think it makes the rifle more appealing to the eye. I still have some time to figure it out and get an order in so I can get the "specials" upgrades you are offering...which speaks highly of your character. Woody
