Has anyone used the giant Hubel rounds as long range black powder cartridges?

It might not have any practical use, but slinging a .729 cast lead bullet at an elephant-sized silhouette out a BPCR with open sights would be a hell of a thing. Ten gauge case made from .50 Russian- I'm thinking of you.

GrandpasezWE shot Rob's 12ga FH with black couple times.
Shot 8bore and 4bore with black, not much, too
hard to clean barrels.

boom stickI would scale up high BC rounds for it in aluminum. Probably 5" or 6" long javelins.

Maybe you weren't doing it right because I find real black powder is easier and quicker to clean than substitutes or smokeless.

I found one has to clean Black powder every time you shoot it I have left a lot of smokeless fire months with out cleaning them or damaging them.

Bill/OregonBP fouling is a piece of cake compared to dealing with copper and lead fouling. Get your lube right and it's not an issue.
There is hope, even when your brain tells you there isn’t.

That's true, but I take the time to clean all my guns(smokeless or black powder) when I finish shooting them, I don't leave any of them dirty for even days let alone months so it's not an issue for me.

Yeah. Part of me wants to give up on the idea...but the thought of a huge falling block and Postel-type bullet in one of the big bore sizes is awesome. I have some of that .50 Russian brass. It's. 850" DIA at the head. Should be no problem to blow that out to .803". I wonder what a long lead bullet would weigh in that diameter?
Edit: I just lifted this from a post by Cal Pappas in the Double Rifles forum, about a 4-bore double gun: "rifle was made for a conical of 1882 grains and 390 grains of black C&H no.6. and so marked on the barrels. (Made about 1890). 4 1/4 ounces and 390 grains of GOEX 2F will really rock your world."
That sounds like case capacity of the .50 Russian when blown out to minimal taper for a .803" Postell-type bullet.
