Am I correct that according to SAAMI, a tweenty meal-o-meters barrel (.787”) would still be in spec for a 10 Gauge? A hypothetical person could make a rifled Dos Equis meal-o-meter-10gauge for long range set up single shot pretty easy. Better get the tank muzzle break. Thar be plenty of exotic 10+10 meal-o-meter pointy tips. NEF has a single shot 10 gauge that could be a cheap conversion. 577 BME 3"500 KILL ALL 358 GREMLIN 404-375 *we band of 45-70ers* (Founder) Single Shot Shooters Society S.S.S.S. (Founder)

Only if you want to be kicked silly. A few decades ago I found my ideal turkey gun. A light handy single shot 10ga 3.5" magnum that would shoot honest 75 yard turkey killing patterns. Shooting it was like getting smacked with a baseball bat. Make it heavy if you do build it.

Are you thinking brass cases with a bullet? Or, plastic hulls with a full-bore slug? Or, maybe a sabot, with a smaller diameter, but high BC long pointed bullet? Those turned brass cases would be really pricey.

I guess it’s a way around the whole DD rules. I’ve got 3 10 ga hunting guns… no interest in a 10 ga from you know where… .50 BMG is enough for me…

Bingo! I was thinking brass cases but lower pressure subsonic plastic shells would be fun too. A a fast twist tweenty mile meters rifled barrel could stabilize some long high BC bullets.

I have 3 also. I don't find the recoil too severe. The shotguns are usually very heavy.... even my H & R single shot.
