Catalog debut for 35 Pounds Sterling in 1930. For scroll engraving and special finish add an extra 7 Pounds:

Interesting throating, with only a leade that allows .118" length of bullet travel before tapering down to land diameter:

RIP, that is WAY TOO COOL!!!!

I know that there are a ton of .505 Gibbs fans here but IMHO the .500 Jeffery is THE definitive bolt action big bore. If you can't kill it with a 535 gain bullet at 2400 fps, it's time to pack up and go home!

Good post RIP. You got any old stuff on the .500 Schuler?

Have you decided to build a Schuler / Jeffery?

it might interest only .000000000000000000001% of you but if you wanted a belted unrebated 500 Jeffery or 500 AHR you could use the 577 Belted Magnum Express brass since the caseheads are the same in front of the belt. so you could have high quality brass and no feeding or headspace issues. This might be interesting for those who would do a switch barrel on the 577 and wanted to shoot those and use the same brass or they might just do a 577 and a 505 Gibbs. Hijack off.

Great post RIP thumb

Ah, olde-tyme gun literature. I'd probably pony up the 42GBP and get the "deluxe" model. HA! Smiler
