This may be old news here but if so I missed it. I just saw an advert where CZ will be chambering their Safari Classic in 300 H&H, 450 Rigby and 500 Jeffery.

I am not a huge CZ fan, however I have to admit that their marketing department seems to have their finger on the pulse of today's hunter. Either that or they prowl around on this site. Wink

yes, but................and the "but" is a huge one. Those chamberings are in the custom line and $2400+. The 300H&H is especially irritating, since it is a simple barrel switch on their $800.00 375H&H. If they priced it at the same number and made it with a 26" barrel I would already have one sitting in the corner. How cool would that be? My gunsmith has me about half convinced to buy another 375H&H, shoot both to see which is more accurate, and put a .30-caliber liner in the other one. Yes, liner; I have lined a few barrels in days gone by. A 300WM shot a little under an inch at 100yds with a 180gr BT at nearly 2800fps.

I think CZ makes a fine rifle in the bigger bores, I don't know about the smaller bores.
I would buy one.

At that price point it is obvious that a rifle from AHR may be a better option, for a little more it's true, but you end up with a rifle with the options you want, slicked up by the riflesmiths who probably know as much as anybody about the CZ's and turning a CZ into a very good rifle indeed.

Those answers are one and the same! Smiler It's still refreshing to see companies chambering cartridges we actually WANT as opposed to coming out with a new "short mag" or "modern mag" or something.

it makes sense, who else will you get a 300H&H from? You buy it, you like the CZ, and you buy more. It worked on me, bought a 416 Rigby, liked it, and now I have four of them, and would like two more...

I just wish it was available in a standard grade for about $800.
