.375 Ruger by Hornady
This case will be interesting. Necked down it may open a whole new line of "magnums". A 338 version may give the 338WinMag a legitimate run for its money. Likewise a .35 could be the third and this time hopefully a successful US try at a hot .35cal. Holy crap Batman ... think of it as a hot .25cal

. Then ... we could shorten it to 2" and start all over again. Someone had better be quick and patent this case design

Cheers...

boom stickrun for its money?!?!?!?
it will spank it by 100-150 fps!
boom stick,
Yes probably true, but us wildcatters are an optimistic bunch

in general. The "old" standard magnums like the 264WinMag, 7mmRemMag, 300WinMag, 338WinMag might be about to be shaken up. Same goes for the "short" Weatherby's like the 257Wby, 270Wby and 7mmWby. If I was Ruger/Hornady ... I'd be considering releasing the box-set (7mm, .30, .338, .375) from the start in both the Ruger MkII S/S and blued/steel versions. Good ammunition and rifle sales would more than likely follow and they'd effectively be building identical rifles with different barrel diameters ... not a bad cost cutting exercise.
Cheers...

oldunThe 375 Ruger/Hornady will still be in a Ruger rifle. I'll wait untill some of the hot air has cooled and hope that a manufacturers of better rifles pick up on the cartridge.
The cartridge just might be the first round to unsettle the great 375 H&H but Ruger rifles

I agree....the value of this cartridge is far greater to Hornady in brass and ammo sales than to Ruger in rifle sales.
