Hey Guys and Gals
WE ARE APPROVED FOR MARCH 9th.

It will be a per PERSON fee, NOT per gun.

We will have a 10 or 12 round course of fire ...

One Shooter at a time.

Ammo must be kept seperate from rifles

We will have to tote out our own trash. I'll bring trash cans.

March 9th,

Juliff, Texas

Please lets start thinking about a head count here.

Payton,
THanks!

You know, there seem to be a decent number of BR members going to this thing... maybe we should try to start a DG Rifle match -- we couldn't move around, but say shoot at 50 & 100 yards, freehand and off sticks? (Spoken by a man w. a 458, which could be reloaded cheap...)

Hey Fellas
It is Offical ...

We will be shooting at the Bayou RIfle Club range, in Julif, Texas.

This is essentially the intersection of 288 and Hwy 6.

We will start at 10 AM, and have the range until 3pm. We don't have to LEAVE then, but we then have to share the range.

We will be having a lunch, donations appreciated, so we'll need to know how many folks will be there.. at least 2 weeks before, PLEASE.. I am not out ot make a cent off this, but a donation jar will be present, as feeding 50 guys can get a bit spendy.

We'll have our course of fire (CoF) during the first 1/2 of the hour, depending on user count, starting AT 10. If there's just a "load" of guys there, we'll have to keep the range running.

You guys can order shirts (i am NOT involved in the $$ aspects of this) with details forth coming. Hogkiller and Rusty have both setup a group purchase for nice shirts before, and I'll contact those folks later on.

The shoot itself will be $10 bucks per person. We will TRY to have ENOUGH tables and racks, but if you have any folding tables, please let me know.

On parking: We would like to have some order on parking. When you pay your $10 (going to the owners of the range, not anyone else) you will receive a card and sticker that we would like you to place under a windshield wiper when you park. Since we will be parking fairly densely, it would be nice to be able to call the fella and move a truck or what not, if someone else needs to leave.

We will have nominal prizes for the CoF, nothing wonderful, but, you know, this is our first time as the ARBBA

More to come!

I will not be selling anything at the shoot.

Anyone desiring a DRSS (Double Rifle Shooters Society) custom embroidered shirt, should contact Mulholland's in Fort Worth Texas, 817-624-1153. You will need to supply them with a new unlaundered shirt of your choice. They have caps for embroidery. The fee you pay is what Mulholland's charges. The DRSS receives no fees or considerations.

As a member of Bayou Rifles, I would hope that we will have folks from the membership committee to answer any questions you might have concerning a membership at BRI.

Looking forward to having a great time!

HK, I have two - My first one is on a CZ 550 with a 26" barrel. She weighs in at just under 14 lbs with a very effective break. This is the one I will most likelt bring along. This was the second one made with Rob's being #1. It was the first one put together by AHR.

600 OK #2 is a switch barrel on a GMA action. I have barrels for it in 375, 416, 458, 474, 510, and 550. I had one in 585 I was making but fubar the damb thing and of course a 620 barrel. Barrels are all 23 3/4 " and the rig will weigh around 11-12 lbs. Thing is she isn't finished yet. I've fit the barrels and test fired but I don't have a finished stock or any blue or sights etc and I'm not likely to get it done by departure date.

Loads will depend on what the range allows. I will bring along some really light loads that will surprise even the faintest of souls. Then some that duplicate the old 600 NE nad finally some that run at 2200. I may just have to add a handfull to quiet down even the baddest tough guy running at 2400 +. This one will get your attention

I just came back from our local gun show, what a joke.Nothing of intrest. We are going to have a bunch of guys with the same taste in guns at the shoot. We all have gear and guns that no longer intrest us. can we have a mimi swap meet along with the shoot. If you have dies bullets or brass, gun parts bring them along. If there are going to be some pro smiths there it would ao be great to see some of their work and meet them.
It could be fun.

Thanks for the feedback guys!

So, the deal is ON, and I am going to be spending a bit of my "free" time trying to wrestle this to the end.

DRG has donated AR patches and DVDs for door prizes and the Top ranked course of fire shooters.

I believe I have 9 patches, and those will go to the top placers in the course of fire!

Not that it really matters for this shoot (at least to me) but I was thinking that if you start your "200 yd. dikdik target" shoots, you should include a chronograph test... maybe break it into over 100# recoil and under 100# recoil classes... or not -- starts sounding a bit too much like work...
