It's a copy of some phony "collector" Winchester model 70s that were built as .458 target guns, complete with target aperture sights. I thought they were ugly, useless, pointless, phony "collector" pieces that were deliberately built to be unique (and unusable).

You can probably gather that I don't think much of the idea.

That reminds me of the fellow who made up a bolt action PISTOL in 458 and used full loads for handgun metallic silhouette !!! BOOM animal

Well after " ringing" quite a few 1/2 size Rams at 200m with my 6mm RLG . I thought about a nice 454 casull bolt action. Rem pistol too.
However, the 458 win mag bench gun is a real loser idea although at 100yrds or so I'll bet its a one holer!!-Rob -Rob

I think it's too generous to say the stock needs refinishing, it was never finished in the first place!
