Should be a great varmint bullet for 50 BMG and smaller .510-caliber cartridges.

Looks like plumbing parts, why the internal grooves in the cavity?

To continue the plumbing analogy ...
Those are the two "female" rings (threads) inside the brass hollowpoint, in the outer part of the cavity, that receive the two "male" rings (threads) on the plastic "Talon" ballistic tip base.
Press the Talon tip base into the hollow point cavity, and voila, a snap-tight fit.
Plugged in.

That sort of inner machining near the mouth of the hollow point is bound to promote expansion.

More sexy than just plumbing parts, need a better analogy, as alluded too above. Wink

Back when Michael and Sam developed the design of the BBW#13 HP bullet it was determined that the grooves, or score lines, within the cavity assured the petals would expand and then simultaneously separate from the bullet shank.

Testing determined the diameter of the BBW#13 HP cavity, the depth of the HP cavity, the number of petals, the thickness of the petals, and finally the depth of the score lines. Once Michael and Sam brought Dan, CEO of Cutting Edge Bullets, on board for commercial manufacture of the BBW#13 FN Solid and HP NonCon these various specifications were perfected for all calibers the BBW#13 HP NonCons are offered in.

Yes "to" (referential) was meant, but "too" (also) as in "loo" also (too) works better for your plumbing analogy,
or was it just a "double-tap" typo, or too (also) perseveration of early dementia on my part is also (too) a possibility.

Those who have little else to share type about our typos.
Yes, interesting new bullet. beer

BC should be pretty close to the .27 rough guess derived on the .500/350gr ESP with tip added.
I'd like to put that in a 50BMG and smoke it at +Mach 3 ...

Powder faster than H50BMG required ...

245 grains of H4831-SC BOOM
There are more efficient sporting rifles to use with this new bullet ...

That 375 grain .510" Raptor should be a good PG bullet for 510 shooters that could smoke a buff if needed.

The 375+11grain ESP should do 2800 fps in a 500 AccRel Nyati//50-12-MbogoShort

Good for about 6750 ftlbs, by quick mental calc.

Since this is coming from a poor, slow internet connection, I must ask whether this is a Raptor, or a non-con with tip? Is there a stability difference noticed by any who have shot it?

416Tanzan,
The way I read it, means a boat-tailed ESP Raptor with tip.
These are so new, has anyone shot it yet?
It is so close to the .500/350gr+10gr tipped ESP Raptor that it has got to be good.

RIP what type of varmint exactly we are talking here?

My recomended varmint medicine is .338-378Wea. 250gr./3050fps./BC.606 all the way down to 1760fps.
