I plan on Hunting Elk with mine this year. I built it relatively light so I could pack it up the mountain a little ways, not that I really need to. The grin factor is what keeps people coming back for more with these babies. Here is a photo of mine ( 11 lbs and 21" barrel ). Also a couple of photos of a new 600 OK cartridge holder.

I've got .600OK numbers 1 and 2. I still have one barrel left and at least one of my original muzzel brakes. I may be open to offers for the barrel and brake.

I don't have a 600 OK rifle but Bitterroot was kind enough to give me a loaded round at the shoot last weekend. I think it would make a pretty good elk rifle in the black timber dancing so we'll see what the budget allows this year.

You forgot to add "Charging Watermellon" to the poll Big Grin

Assuming plans gel, mine will be slinging brass/copper/lead towards a Boar in the Upper Penninsula of MI in October. It will also be heading to the Alleghenies of PA for Whitetails first week of December and if I am blessed, to Africa for Cape Buffalo in 2010 if not sooner.

Thanks Tom. I'm hoping to get the mount this month. Still wish I would have done a full body though. As to the bullet belt--I never want to run out of bullets. A gun makes a poor club and I didn't get it with a bayonet lug Wink

The cartridge holder is made by a fellow Montanan and is best-quality craftsmanship. I used it at the Big Bore shoot last weekend and it worked great. The cover has snaps top and bottom so it will flip down or can be taken off. I thought I would just tease a little to see if there is any interest. It could be made in other calibers and have any custom carving and could be made to fit any width of belt. Don't have a price yet, but I will real soon.

Folks- the 750 gr bullets really are something in this caliber. the guns are build for 900's and you have gotten used to them. the 750's reduce the recoil by a substantial amount and litereally become plinkers. You will not believe how well they work.-rob

Yeah, I am thinking of using Rob's 750gr hole-puncher on the boar hunt in October. Of course, if he has his expanders in production by then I might use those or I might have to use one of AHR's copper expanders - recently got a handful of these babies and they are beautiful too!

Oh the choices we have Smiler

Also, gotta talk to Tom about Cape Buffalo in '09. To be honest, I have searched AR and there is so much good advice as to where and when, I am more confused than not after having done so. Like nearly everyone else, I'd like a good chance at a good Buf at a good price.

HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY - Stay safe, stay well and give thanks to those who gave of themselves so that we have the choices we do.

Paul

A couple photos of our .620 Copper Xpanders. The first photo shows the .620' shot into water and wet newspaper with velocities from 1,900 to 2,250 fps from the left to right. The second photo is a batch that has just come out of the vibratory media and ready for nose punching and polishing. We make then in .550, .585, and .685 also. Those petals expand to about an inch dia. The weigh 810 gr.
That second photo makes a cool background for your desktop.
