Correct on all counts, near as I've been able to figger. Do you know what the difference in weight is between Gen 1 and Gen 3? My Gen 1 is pretty barrel heavy, although that's a positive thing with the 470 Mbogo.
I haven't had any newer ones handy to compare it to, but, yep...it does have a recoil plate bedding system. I don't know if it changed over the generations at all. Cheers, Canuck | |||

Canuck, In .416 Rigby, Generation One and Two RSM's are about 10.5 to 10.75 lbs., depending on wood. Generation Three RSM in .416 Rigby was exactly 9.5 lbs for the one I weighed. | |||

Ahhhh...I get it now. You got my brain off track with the reference to Mark I. YES, it is the original 470 Mbogo (#1 of all time)...the one that Dave E had rebored and took to Tanz...and the one that I bought from him and then subsequently gave a return visit to Tanz.
