Cool…

The 505 Gibbs is making a come back! Well, it never really showed up so come back is probably not a good term. Whenever I look for bullets I see just as many .505 hunting bullets as I do .510 bullets (Barnes, Woodleigh, and Hawk). With the availability of Norma brass I think we’ll see even more 505 Gibbs Rifles Cool.

like the 505 from CZ that is already in stores as I type...?

I have always "had the hots" for a 505, and now, after load testing one...the disease is in it's terminal stages.

The GMA action is great, but the CZ isn’t all that bad. Just bought one about a week ago, needs some work but I was expecting that it would. The action needs slicked up and the ejection needs some work, but these are easy fixes for a good smith.

Worked up some loads last weekend and will shoot some more this coming (600 grain bullets). I’ll post details when I’m done with all the chronograph work. The long and short of it is, I got a sore shoulder and a big smile Smiler!

If you want to go Cadillac buy the GMA if you want to go Chevrolet buy the CZ.

What do you think about the South African Truvelo Magnum Mauser action?

600 grains from a .505 Gibbs is more than 400 grains from my .404 Jeffery...

Husky,

I don’t have any real experience with or knowledge of that action. There is bound to be someone on AR that does. I’ve got a non AR friend that might know about them, if he can tell me anything I’ll post it here.
