go to the hoot and shoot thread... we have done this twice.. with about 40-50 paying guys each time, and probably 50% more non-shooters

the other trhead only has about 8-10 people that actually say they will be there. I was just curious who all was coming. I am sure it will be a great time.

Count me in, I'll be there with 500AR in tow. I'm also bringing at least one guest.

This will be my first, but local motels seems to be the choice.

No on-site camping. This would be a good choice for a nearby hotel (10 minutes north of the range):

Another option for out-of-towners would be to spend Friday night at the Best Western (above) and then, after the shoot, head further south to the coast. It's about 45 min to Freeport and you could do a little surf fishing for fall run redfish on Surfside beach and spend Saturday night at a hotel in Freeport. Freeport has lots of options from camping to dingy motels to nice hotels.

Just a few rate checks at some area motels with rooms available for the Big bore Texas Shoot. Pearland Holiday Inn 81.00, Pearland Hampton 109.99, Houston S.W. Freeway 67.00, Manville Best Western 75.65 for a king bed. All of theses rates are before taxes. Where are people staying?? Any contact number to call and see if we can meet up on Fri. night for an evening meal and lie, oops, I mean story swapping session???

try a motel 6 or udget or scottish inn ...you CAN get under 50 bucks, but you don't want to

You do not send the rifle to someone else, you send it to yourself at that address! We ship rifles and heavy gear to Alaska all the time, and pick them up at air-fraight when we arrive in Anchorage! Of course now that we are strapped with the Obama grabbers, no telling what has passed under the radar, so it might pay to contact the ATFE personally, face to face and ask! My advice is get it in writing for the shipper!

What are the prizes for best shooters? 1st place, runner-up etc. Was'nt there an ugliest rifle contest at one time?

It looks like I can't make it.

I was trying to arrange a "business trip" to Houston for that week but the company fooled me and is forcing me to go to Hawaii the week before and I don't know exactly when I'll get done with that job.
