http://www.kimberamerica.com/rifles/africa-alaska/talkeetna/ I know the Caprivi didn't get to hot of response on here, but I saw the Talkeetna and I liked it. I already have my Hawkeye Alaskan that I love, but I would sure love a SS/Syn Lott. Has anyone heard or know if the Talkeetna will be available sometime in 458 Lott like the Caprivi is? For that kind of $ buy a model 70 in 375 H&H (there is one in the classifieds that is not mine) send it to Pacnor and viola you have what you are looking for and a few hundo in the bank. I have a pair 375 / 470 capstick just that way on stainless model 70s.

boom stick, rebarrel seems a little crazy for the price of the rifle initially, before I'd rebarrel I would pry do what idahoelk101 said, I would just love it if it was a Lott from the getgo and no gunsmithing needed, just use it. It is a cool looking rifle. "Pray not for lighter burdens, but for stronger backs." T. Roosevelt

I had shoulder surgery (off hand thank god) so I sent it to Roger Biesen to put a new stock on it (bubinga, a matched pair ), I wanted to add some weight so we got pretty creative. I will let you guys see them when I get them back, shortly I hope.

Well, you could just rebarrel one, or you could wait to see if they release it as a factory chambering. Personally, and I told this to Dwight Van Brunt at the NRA meeting, I don't know why they didn't release the Talkeetna Lott from the get go. It'd be easy enough, and there's gotta be a market for a synthetic big-bore... _____________________________________________________ No safe queens!

I think the pair of Lott and 375 synthetic are a safari dream pair if you are into synthetic like me. It is a carry a lot, shoot a little rifle for trecking miles and miles. Maybe the shot show this year they will bring it out. 577 BME 3"500 KILL ALL 358 GREMLIN 404-375 *we band of 45-70ers* (Founder) Single Shot Shooters Society S.S.S.S. (Founder)

Those Kimbers have a washer recoil lug like a Remington 700. Detachable. They are a cylindrical pipe action like a Remington 700 or Dakota99. Truly a Remchester hybrid. A much better stainless synthetic 458 Lott can be had by slicking up a WinM70 Classic stainless with a new barrel and appropriate stock. You do not even have to rebarrel the .375 H&H Winchester M70 Classic Stainless. Kimber Talkeetna? Nah, Winchester Wasilla is what I call the made-over M70 Classic Stainless in .458 Lott. I will do one on my last M70 Classic Stainless "Safe Queen." I already have a .375 Weatherby Winchester Wasilla. her name is "Sarah." She is the most accurate and versatile sporting rifle in the world. The .458 Lott Winchester Wasilla will be called "Palin." The Sarah Palin combo is quite the pair. Rifles! Get your mind off cup size guys!

Hey RIP you sure on the recoil lug? I thought they have been using Montana actions? Should make it a "Flatheader" ??

Montana actions on the Kimber rifles? Look closely. The clever devils at Kimber have made a shroud at the front of the action that overhangs and covers the washer recoil lug. Pipe action with washer recoil lug trapped in place when the barrel is screwed on.
