I didn't think there were this many 416 shooters in the country! [Smile]

Mine is a 416 Rem, Winchester Safari Express, bedded into a HS Precision stock. It's wearing a Leupold 1.5-5X20 in Leupold QD rings. The mounts are held down with 8X40 screws. I also replaced the follower and mag spring with Remington 700 parts just to make myself feel better.

Mine is a 416/404 built on a M98 action. It is very light for a 416, equipped with three leaf shallow V rear sight, barrel banded front sight with square bead, barrel band and a laminated stock w/ Kick-Eze Pad. It is quite accurate and kicks like a mule. However, it isn't a target rifle and it is just right for what it was designed to be: a carry all day stopping rifle. Ku-dude

Gents,
My rifle was built for me by Jim Wasmundt of Fossil Oregon. It is a 416 Rem Mag on a Remington P-14 Action. It wears a Pac-Nor CM barrel,Timney Trigger,Bell & Carlson stock and a old steel Weaver 6x scope. I hope to find a fixed power Leupold at this weekends gun show.I love this rifle. You just can't argue with 400 grains at 2400fps ! Jim has also built me a 458x2" on a Winchester P-14,and I have a Winchester P-14 375 Taylor (375-338)and a P-17 in 30-06. I have commisioned Jim to build me a 35 Whelen on my last remaining P-17 action after he finishes my 1871 Remington Rolling Block 357 Maximum Schuetzen rifle project. A Gunsmith that knows when to act on his own and when to listen is hard to find. I have been to Williams Firearms Company here in town and spoken to Matt about their action aspirations and hope to score one when they release something big enough for the 510 Wells I need.:>Wink 45nut

1. 416 Taylor:
Ruger 77 Mark II stainless action, with Timney replacement trigger, and stainless steel floorplate (taken off a 25-06 Ruger varmint gun) to replace the alloy floorplate of the originally 338 WinMag action-donor rifle.
Shilen 26" stainless barrel, #4 sporter contour, 1 in 14" twist, Dakota express sights, Gentry barrel band sling base.
3 Stocks: Ruger boat paddle with add-on Decelerator pad and Uncle Mike's sling base on buttstock, or Hogue OverMolded with aluminum pillars, or newest Ruger synthetic stock, taken off another Ruger rifle, glass bedded.

2. 416 Barnes Supreme:
Mark X Whitworth action, with Timney trigger, 24" Douglas #4 chrome moly barrel 14" twist, stocks: factory walnut express rifle, Brown Precision fiberglass, Bell&Carlson synthetic, etc., getting tedious here ...

3. 416 Remington Magnum:
Winchester M70 Safari Express factory rifle with the negative-drop walnut stock.

4. 416 Rigby:
Ruger No. 1-H factory rifle.

5. 416 Rigby:
Ruger 77 Magnum factory rifle.

6. 416 Rigby:
CZ 550 Safari Magnum, factory rifle, plus a synthetic stock that I got from Nickudu, sold out of RSA by Arm Tec, but sure looks like a Bell&Carlson with an Uncle Mike's recoil pad.

Add to tally:
1 Taylor
1 Barnes Supreme, the only one in the world maybe.
1 Remington
3 Rigby
