Hi, SAFARIKID. I have one on a GMA Action. All I've shot out of it has been Woodleigh 900 grain bullets, (both FMJ's and SN's), with 150 grains of H4350. Manageable recoil when the muzzle break is on. Not that much fun when it's off. Cheers. Chip. P.S. For me, the rifle was mainly a novelty...never killed anything with it.

My new favorite load is a 930 grain cast flat-nose with 60 grains of 5744. Comes out at 1300 fps +/- and you can shoot all day without the brake. Still makes a big splat when it hits. I'll try to post some pics of my favorite 600 OK builds. Of course "Grizzilla" is on the list.

Tom, I've had a couple 600OK rifles; one from Wayne and one from Bijou Creek which was built for you :-) Not bad to shoot at 2,100 fps or so, but a bit heavy...nothing a $5 bill to your tracker won't cure!

Well I'm not the originator, as that honor goes to Rob Garnick, but I've built a "few".

Ed and I shot these through three five-gallon water jugs backed up by wet newspaper. The bullet on the left was shot at about 1800 fps and the others progressively faster, with the one on the right at about 2,150 fps. I have some of the non-cons. You could lose a small child in the nose cavity of those things.

I own a 600 Overkill. I haven't done anything spectacular with it. Still working on feeding issues. A 460 Weatherby loaded ctg can be dropped in the muzzle and fall all the way through the chamber. Its a real eye opener and all of a sudden most of the shit talkers at the range don't want anything to do with it! Wayne, that full-length stock pattern of yours is enough to put a horn on a jelly fish ! When will you put me out of my misery and make me a synthetic version for my Mauser ? Apologies for the thread hijack.

I wish there were pictures to go with those early posts. That's some good history there. I started working with the 600 OK around 2005 or 2006 when I became friends with Ed Plummer. Those were some fun days, still are. The OK is still going strong: I'm in the middle of building four of them right now.

And they'll be very well built, feeding and ejection tuned, test fired, done on time, and reasonably priced. Others take note!!!

By lighter bullets you mean 900 grains right? My two loads are a 1040 grain lead bullet with 150 grains of IMR4350 and a 900 grain Woodleigh bullet with 160 grains of IMR4350. Been thinking about trying IMR4895 to try to get a little more velocity out of it. Here is a picture of me killing a 55 gallon water drum. Surprisingly the softpoint bullet went right through the drum and I never did find it.

As far as lighter bullets go, I have loaded and fired a few dozen of Rob Garnick's "crayola tips". I believe they were 700-750gr and as much H4350 as I could stuff in the case. Never recovered one. Quite pleasant to shoot. I need to find someone to build one on the stainless PH action I have...... My favorites are the 750 gr crayolas! You can get some amazing velociraptor out of them and the recoil is mediocre! I've got .600 ok rifles numbers 1 and 2. Probably over 1000 rnds through each at this point. Never disappoints at any of the local shoots! Hey Rob! Tell me more! Want to blow some piggys up with big fat destroyer slugs..not worried about penetration! Best bullets for this Please! "That's not a knife..THIS is a KNIFE" !

The nastiest meanest things are 900gr soft lead paper patch bullets at 2100fps. Results are large smoking balls of lead! Unsurvivable doesn't begin to produce the visual image! Sounds like fun,but what are these 750 Crayons Rob?? "That's not a knife..THIS is a KNIFE" !

The 750gr Crayolas tips are some brass bullets I make that have a slightly concave flat tip designed for max penetration. You can hit over 2750fps out of the .600 ok with them. Recoil is low and accuracy is great. My last run sold out but if there is more demand I can easily do another run! How about making some beer keg aluminum bullets like for the 12gfh 577 BME 3"500 KILL ALL 358 GREMLIN 404-375 *we band of 45-70ers* (Founder) Single Shot Shooters Society S.S.S.S. (Founder)

I have 2 600 OK rifles by AHR. I have enjoyed Rob's crayolas as well as CEB 800 gr raptors but my ultralights are 340 gr aluminum bullets custom made for me by CEB but of course they make them for anyone they just are not a catalogue item. I only shoot the aluminums out of one of my rifles as I dont really have a good idea of what they do to a barrel long term but so far so good after about 400 rounds. Matthew

Have you tried the 825s Raptor "Petal Pushers"? I was wondering what the damage is on flesh (hogs) of these design and being lighter the velocity ? Same question with those aluminum lightweights!?!...I prefer something in the 750 to 825 range as I want a little more speed than the 900s but not give up too much weight, but want a serious "smack" on jog shoukders! Haha! Look forward to your reply!! "That's not a knife..THIS is a KNIFE" !

Here's one that's on consignment with us right now. I shot it at our local big-bore shoot this summer and what a blast. It has a 20" barrel and the scout scope. Too much fun.

Every time I see one of these, I want one. Then I just bring the 458 Lott to the range next time and beat that thought out of my head with a few full-tilt 500gr loads. I then re-realize my recoil limit
