I find it strange that this has not been mentioned here at the AR.

Jeff Cooper passed away last night. He made it to the honour board in my world, and will be missed.

RIP, Colonel.

I will miss his column in Guns and Ammo..the only thing that made that magazine worthwhile.
As for favorite sayings, the one that stands out in my mind is, and I am paraphrasing this,
"An ingenious solution to a nonexistent problem" when talking about double action semi auto pistols.
May he rest in peace.

I'm another person who started reading G&A from the back and then read his musings off the Internet when I found those.

Always thought provoking and usually right but never PR.

I hope he's sitting with the Greats extolling the virtues of the Scout rifle and Baby.

I wasn't skilled at all the items on his (in)famous list of "things a young man should be able to do by the age of twenty one" until my mid thirties. I recommend it as a goal for all young men to pursue.

I believe Colonel Cooper's only major dissapointment will be when he meets Jesus Christ and notices the Sig P-220 on the Son of God's right hip. He will be heartened by the reworked Colt Commander (series 70, of course) that the blessed mother Mary carries in a hand tooled holster with an FBI slant.

Open the gates Peter; a true warrior returns home.
