the only way to maximize the ruger case is to long load a 423...kinda like the taylor...to get close to 400@ 2400 you had to run high preasure and load it long...question is is the ruger brass too short??? another reason why the a.r. carts are a better platform being 2.65"

as jeffeosso said the ruger case will be great for 375 on down but imagine a 8x68 version of the ruger case!

can and do we want to at a.r. want to patent a 2.65" .532 casehead brass??? you could use 375 ruger reamers to make the longer version and get another 7 or 8% case volume. it would realy max out that design and no need to run excessive preasures... you could do .375 300 gr @ 2500 fps in the mid 40's preasure wise. now that would be a great improvement...handloaders wont need pixie dust to make it shine.

the 375 ruger is great...the 2.65 version would be great + 8%

If I was building it for myself only.....I wouldn't give a shit about Steve Hornady!!!!!

If I was building them and advertizing them as a business.....it might be a different deal.

The controlling factor may in fact be magazine length and not case length.

the bullet can only be seated to the length allowed by the magazine....the rest must be in the case!

The very small amount of chamber volume gained by longer brass may in fact be negligible.

One can push the 400 grain from the 416 Taylor at the 2,300 given some guts!

yep... a 532 casehead and rim, no belet, at 60+KPSI.. which, off course, was unattainable is a repeatable way, then

if someone were to produce longer brass i am sure they would want to "protect it"

yes if one were to "go big" there would be negligable gains i have conceeded....but 375 on down would be different. a 338 2.65" case on the .532 casehead would be significant gains.
