Well, since the AC130H and the A10 are out, and an Abrams might be hard to come by, if it had to be a serious walking around gun, I'd go with a magnum Mauser in 458 Lott. Plenty of knockdown and penetration, good, reliable action, and get it properly stocked. Not too heavy in the recoil department, and ammo's not too bulky, so you could carry plenty.
If it had to be off-the-shelf, a 416 Rem Mag in the Win Mod 70 Safari grade, unless they have started to do them in the Lott?

Cheers, Dave.

Actually, since we are dropping into armored vehicles, an old Nazi Panther would be nice, and I believe one can still pick up a Nazi Mark IV in Serbia, or a T-34 for that matter (those wide tracks might be just right). Can I carry my .404 Jeffery as as a "side arm"??

are we "hunting" that means "fair chase" and who is being chased? roflmao or just trying to kill it? do we get a p.h.? if no p.h. we will need to be carying the stopper gun. if we are "hunting" i'll take the 45-70 just to tick off the snooty guys here and brag about it later. if we are worried about "tracking a wounded animal" issue than i would "hunt" with my own special proprietary round so i could manufacture it and sell it as the "official dinosaur killer" something along the lines of a bmg case without the taper and a 2000 grain bullet to give me good s.d. the design would be a flat nose solid. if i had to pick a already used round to "hunt" with i'd go mbogo. being that the dinos have a small brain it makes a brain shot all the more dificult so a good neck shot would have to break the large neck vertibrae so the flat nose solid in the bmg straight would be a good stopper round. i dont think a heart shot on a large dino would be a quick enough stopper for me. i think i'd go with that flame thrower idea for up close protection. if we are just trying to kill it from a distance the 50bmg is the way to go since it would take him at least 2min to catch up to you. and that gives you time to climb up a good tree and shoot him up close with my bmg straight. jump

so heavy: bmg straight or mbogo

medium 50-140 (sharps straight 3 1/4)

light 45-70 just to behoove the establishment and give the ol'round some more bragging rights

flame thrower for up close protection

p.s. can someone run a program to see what a bmg straight in 2000 grain bullet would be fps and energy wise it would be about a .75 dia jump

thanks thumb

M79 grenade launcher. I would love to see one of these go off after it penetrated a few inches. Talk about a freaking hole you would not see a clean kill but it would anchor them pretty nice if you shot for the leg.

Boom--My 700 HE made from a BMG case,
straightened out with a belt, full length,
will get a 1000 gr out at 3000 fps.
If shooting a 2000 gr bullet it would get about 2100 fps...Ed

o.k. so my "750 dino" will be the bmg case without taper and no belt so i will have an original cartridge. what is the h.e. like to shoot maybe you should re name it h.e.l.l. (hubbel express long and large) its a bit more catchy...they say marketing is everything. gives new meaning to phrase "shot in hell" or "shoots like hell" ect...

wow! impresive...is there a gun to shoot it, would you shoot it? i like the 50bmg case idea because of the brass availability and price but the custom bullets can be made by you, flat nose and spitzer please Big Grin but that 750 nitro would be a good dino killer if you could place it right thumb good stuff

I have something in the works now but i can't find any loads for it ?

and its kinda spooky not knowing how much bullseye to add before the other powder
Saeed ? i think said try 5 or 10 grains of bullseye then add the 200+ grains of the other powder . but if anyone here has a better idea ..Please feel free to comment i could really use the help on this one .

The bullet weight is .. for mine is 1500 Grains
do you guys need to know how much water it holds ? or i am open here for suggestions..

Boom Stick- Rob has his 700 BMG Imp which
has no belt like mine, but has a small shoulder, and gets 1000 gr out at 3000 fps.
It is full length like mine. I have a shorter
3.25 inch version of my belted one that we are trying to get an intermediate size action
built to use, half way between a bmg and regular
magnum action.I'm calling it the 700H.
Rob's is in a BMG type bolt action weighing 29 lbs I think and it shoots easy. You got to have
weight or you might get hurt.If you make a
750 without a belt, from the rimless BMG case, you will have headspacing problems with the small shoulder step you'd
end up with.Martin may be using a
700NE case straightened out to take the 750
diameter bullet, but it has a rim to headspace on.

Martin- What action are you using on your 750 project. If break action start out with lighter bullet and slow powder, but never use less than 90% fill with slow powder.
Start out with a 90% full case of
really slow powder with 5 gr of bullseye under it.Use H50BMG powder. And start out with a bullet
300 gr lighter, like hollow pointing to
lighten it, and if action opens, slowly
work up.If a bolt action make sure it is heavy and use same starting loads and work up to
faster powders.Ed.
